This is a dystopian set in the future 2045 where the population is now 5 boys to 1 girl. Boys must participate in a competition to win one of the few girls to be their wives. This has 2 perspectives, the boy's is in prose and the girl's is in verse. I loved this! The two perspectives made it so interesting! It was different seeing a world where the women are in charge and men are second class citizens. It is also a very quick read.

5 to 1 was so beautifully written. Female voice is written and verse and male voice in a chapter form. It is BEAUTIFUL. I love the story and all that it brought to the tables I‘m still thinking about it. My happy ever after type self wanted everything to end neat and tidy so I am a little sad there but the ending was still SO strong. I highly recommend this book!

This is my April tbr stack. I‘m looking forward to all of them BUT 5 to 1 has an amazing cover. ❤️😍📚

Simple, pleasant, read in one sitting.

A strange and frustrating book.

This novel is told in 2 points of view, Sudasa's in verse and Kiran's in prose.

I have to admit, this book broke my heart. I have a hard time to accept how society treats people. How can you force love on someone? How can you treat your people this way? You feel these characters pain, they are brave, they have hope... it was a beautiful and unique story.

Just finished this stunning piece of work by Holly Bodger and it. Is. Marvelous. Written in alternating views and formats, this fantastic story of two fighting to escape the lives they are trapped within blew me away. Ms Bodger, I cannot wait to read whatever comes next!

Despite the crying baby, Holly Bodger is getting me through this DMV experience with this gorgeous novel - and I don't just mean the cover. (That cover, though...)
