The Ash Wednesday Storm, March 7, 1962 | 
A legendary storm in these parts are the subject of this book of photographs from the Outer Banks, NC. Very sentimental to me as our family cottage is pictured inside after the waves and tide pushed it about 100 feet from its original spot. My Dad shoveled sand that was waist high out the windows. Prompted most cottages to go up on stilts when rebuilt. #readjanuary #setinyourtown

SaraFair @Hobbinol - Don't worry! The area bounced back so well. Hard core folks there went right back to fishin' and beachin' after they rebuilt. If you haven't been in a while, it is very crowded now though. 8y
