pickI'm really enjoying this series,the fight between The Mule and the Second Foundation is perhaps too quickly resolved and sometimes the explanations of the powers of the Second Foundation and the different machines get too technical for a lay person like me, that you tell me they modify minds/this machine blocks stuff?I'm cool with that,don't need the details,although I know they are probably fascinating for some people.Can't wait for the next one!
pickSecond Foundation is a brilliant climax to the trilogy, Asimov teasing various solutions to the questions that he's been building towards, & the payoff was well delivered. It was possible to figure out his puzzle, though he didn't make it obvious. It's nice to have an author who treats their readers as intelligent.
Bonus: I love it when a series has interlocking cover art 😊

I missed yesterday, as we had an air conditioning crisis, so I‘ll double up again today.
My introduction to science fiction (with the emphasis on science) was Asimov‘s Foundation trilogy, to which he later added more books, so I think it qualifies as a series. It‘s at least 40 years, and I‘m due for a reread. Hubby is in the midst of doing that now.
pickThis is the fifth volume from "Foundation" series by Asimov. I finally found out where the Second Foundation is. I've never thought that was on that planet. Not in a million years.
I love this volume too. This series belongs in top 3 best SF novels ever together with "Dune". True SF world. Amazing predictions on the future. Such a beautiful world.
pickA cool conclusion to the trilogy. I‘m not certain if I‘ll continue reading anything about the Foundation but I definitely enjoyed my time with this series. It‘s always fun to go back to the classics. I think I‘ll appreciate space operas more now that I‘ve gone back to the roots. I highly recommend any sci-fi to go back to the original monoliths of the genre every now and then.
Switching between reading Asimov and reading John Scalzi is definitely giving me the strangest literary whiplash I have ever felt. Good thing I‘m nearly done with this book.
pickFinished book 3 in the Foundation Trilogy, rereading them for the first time in 25-30 years. The plot lines of this series are very good and some strong characters appear in each of the books. Interesting psychologies of people and why they do things come through strongly in these books. Pleased to be re-reading these and I look forward to getting hold of book 4 to continue the read of the series.

I find this series simultaneously interesting and dull. I‘d like to see what happens (although the second book was really predictable), but I also keep wanting to do other things or read something else.
This is the third book and I (fortunately?) don‘t have the rest of the series. Not saying I won‘t ever read the rest, but I don‘t think I‘ll be in a hurry to get hold of them.
