My July choice is a horror one by Stewart O‘Nan, an author I discovered this year and who hasn‘t disappointed so far. This one is extremely suspenseful and sad. Loved it!

It‘s surreal. As a war is being waged just 30 miles south of here, my Amazon order was just delivered. Yes, it was placed last Monday but still…life goes on here despite the abject horror that just occurred 48 hours ago. It already feels like a lifetime. I know the coming days are going to be brutal. Israel is a tiny tiny country and EVERYONE knows someone that has been directly affected by Saturdays slaughter. Today is our friend‘s son funeral.
What a book! Suspense building up on every page. And it‘s all so sad. One year ago on Halloween 5 kids in a car slam into a tree. 3 of them are killed. Now it‘s Halloween again and their ghosts are back, just for one day. Floating around and watching their surviving friends, a parent, the cop involved. I did and did not know what to expect and that was exactly what I got. Another (completely different) winner by O‘Nan. Not for the weak of heart.
