My reading pile minus one book, The Liar's Club!!!! I need more time to just curl up and finish reading all the books and I've started, but just when I think I'm about to finish one someone recommend a new one. I am very impulsive and once I buy a book, I feel like I need to start reading it. I'm never bored.

Really hoped to get this finished at the dog park today, but I was distracted by a Chatty Cathy. (Her name really was Cathy!) #sancho #dogsoflitsy #DoNotDisturb!

drokka When I do laundry I usually bring a book to read while the clothes are washing. Today someone interrupted my reading with "that looks so peaceful". Well, it WAS. ? 8y
Wannabe_Quijote @drokka I never interrupt people who're reading. The whole Golden Rule, ya know? 8y

Finally a homework project that doesn't require my active involvement! But I'm doing homework too -- learning about the emotional pitfalls of social media among today's youth.

Aluciddreamstate @mdhughes72 it is horrible what social media has reduced our life to (as I type on a social media site *sarcasm*). I have no other social media platform other then this site. When I left Facebook six months ago, I felt like I was going to live off grid. Amazing feeling 😁🤘🏻 8y
DocBrown I've been off FB for more than two years and I don't miss it. For years I had my students write about their experiences with FB, and was astonished by how unreflective most were about it. They just take it as natural, as the way the world is and ought to be. @Aluciddreamstate (edited) 8y

Mehso-so

I appreciated the vignettes from the interviews. I would have liked greater attention to socio-economic, gender, and racial considerations (ie tech access). Repetitive. The conclusion is excellent, skip right to the final chapter for a succinct review of the effect of smartphones on college campuses and strategies to support thoughtful use of social media.

MrBook Great review! 😊👍🏻 9y

At its best, social media functions as a tool for navigating one‘s relationships. It is not a replacement for those relationships.

MrBook Good quote. 9y
