I really like Chuck Klosterman. Pop culture is NOT my thing, but his perspectives on it are always interesting, unique, and well thought out.

(Aleister Crowley)
Here, Klosterman writes about Bruce Springsteen. This always annoyed me too:
Why did he use the word speedball instead of fastball when reminiscing about high school sports? Was he trying to sound dumb on purpose? Was ESPN unavailable in New Jersey?
On former Texas governor Rick Perry
On former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno and the child rape scandal.
It has always been my firm belief that people are remembered for the sum of their accomplishments but defined by their singular failure.
I think my interest in/admiration for Chuck Klosterman belongs where I last left it: in my twenties. #currentlyreading #chuckklosterman
#maybookflowers day 10 - #lies (for real this time)
Posted Klosterman yesterday too, but he covers a fairly broad spectrum; plus, his essay on Bill Clinton is especially pertinent (for the record, Klosterman calls B.S. on the quote in question).
Finished my FDR book last night (couldn't put it down after Pearl Harbor), so I went to the library today to find something new. Haven't read any Klosterman since my early 20s, so I'm curious to see if I still enjoy his writing.
Who else has a shelf that's #tbr over and over again, the spines frayed and the margins annotated, books that found you exactly when you needed them and that wait your return?
