Keeping her secret may save her family. But telling it may save her life. Arabella Lane, senior executive at a childrens publisher, is found dead in the Thames on a frosty winters morning after the office Christmas party. No one is sure whether she jumped or was pushed. The one person who may know the truth is the newest employee at Parker & Lane the office temp, Eleanor. Eleanor has travelled to London to escape the repercussions of her traumatic childhood in outback Australia, but now tragedy seems to follow her wherever she goes. To her horror, she has no memory of the crucial hours leading up to Arabellas death memory that will either incriminate or absolve her. As Eleanor desperately tries to remember her missing hours and uncover the events of that fateful night, her own extended family is dragged further into the dark, terrifying terrain of blame, suspicion and guilt. Caught in a crossfire of accusations, Eleanor fears she cant even trust herself, let alone the people around her. And soon, shell find herself in a race against time to find out just what happened that night and discover just how deadly some secrets can be. This book was a fast and fun listen. I was hooked from the very start.. A murder has everyone on edge. I questioned everyone but was also not surprised with the twist.

This one if free on audible!

A chilling thriller of memory loss and secret lies by best-selling author Sara Foster who, with five novels under her belt, is proving to be a modern-day master of psychological suspense. Shrouded in the moody, drippy weather of London in winter, this gripper sucks you into the story faster than green grass through a goose!

If this was half it‘s size it would be 2x better! I loved the story line, and the list of suspects that you chop between, plus the past tense story you‘re kept guessing as to what happened. But it just went for so long I wasn‘t as invested as I could have been.

JULY LIST! Still finishing up the third out of 5 from my June list, but excited about this months haul. I also have a long trip half way through the month, and am packing the books I didn‘t finish in hopes to get up to date over my 6 flights 🤪

I am really enjoying Sara Foster‘s work. I only recently discovered her books and I‘m plowing through them quickly. THH was a thought provoking mystery which held me in its grip to the last page. I vacillated between protagonists a number of times, thinking I had figured out ‘who dunnit‘ right to the last moment. A good weekend read.

Really enjoying this...I‘m such a mystery and suspense fan.

RadicalReader @Jhullie what‘s your all time favorite suspense novel? 7y
Jess7 I like the cover!! 7y
Jhullie @RadicalReader such a good question but there are so many. Nicci French is always good, Beneath the Skin is a fave of theirs. Also Transgressions was one of those books that has stayed with me and I reread intermittently. 7y

Book number three of 2017 was the very excellent THE HIDDEN HOURS by Sara Foster. This book consumed my life for about 30 hours and I recommend it to anyone who likes a tense, well-paced mystery when it's published in April. Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
