This is a bit of a sad tale. A little stubby Charlie Brown tree just wants a home for christmas. Instead he gets a homeless little boy and a box. The story has a happy ending, and I did like that the story pointed out that not everyone‘s christmas is a happy one, but not a story I would want to read over and over again.

We incorporated this into our Christmas Eve last year and loved it. Anyone else do this and how do you make it your own in your family? I make cocoa and we nosh on cookies and other goodies.

Of all the books I purchased today at Hicklebee's, this was my favorite. I love books that talk about giving, and how good things can happen because of that giving. I almost cried at the end. The illustrations are so beautifully done. It reminded me of Kate DiCamillo's Great Joy. Same wonderful feeling in my heart when I finished. Yummy.
