I‘ve had this book on my kindle for almost 10 years, so naturally I went ahead and listened to a library audio instead. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The Shoemaker‘s Wife is a very good book! A long, slow-moving family saga/historical fiction that is beautifully written, with fascinating main characters and a sweet romance. I lost myself in this story, and cried like a freaking baby.

I really liked this. It didn‘t move fast, but I really enjoyed the story, and was rooting for Ciro and Enza. I liked the characters and their relationships. The author‘s note at the end tells us that this is based on Trigiani‘s grandparents‘ lives.

This showed up on my doorstep unsolicited when it was first published. I‘d never had any interest in reading Trigiani, but this book wowed me. Enza and Ciro‘s love story captivated me, and I loved reading about their journey from Italy to the US and the decades that followed. #immigrantsong #maymoviemagic

I had forgotten just how gorgeous this book was. While it's true that the story can be bogged down with descriptions in some parts and the second half of the novel feels rushed through, the overall story is an adventure that is worth reading until the end; the detailed imagery transports the reader into the Italian Alps, and later the USA. The experience becomes even more exquisite if you choose to listen to the audiobook while you read, as I did

I've found the Adriana Trigiani's books as of late always have an impeccably dressed woman on their covers. These 2 are no exception-even if one of them is a coat rather than a dress. I want that coat!❤

I haven't read either but have had 'The Shoemaker's Wife' on my TBR for some time.

This is a rich and sweeping love story, with lush descriptions and a variety of locales. By the end, I loved Coro and Enzo as much as they loved each other! #inthemoodforlove #seasonsreadings2016

This story was so wonderful! Quite long at 470 pages but I loved every moment of it. Highly recommend if you're into early 1900s love stories!

This was a recommendation from my friend and I can't wait to start it! Look at that cover art 💃!! After devouring all things Elena Ferrante, I am ready to get back to Italy! Plus it's a family saga sweeping generations so I'm all there.

I really enjoyed this beautiful story of Italy, the need to immigrate to America, hopes, dreams, love, friendships and families.

OMG this book. It was a sweeping epic tale of an Italian-American family stretching from the mountains of Italy at the beginning of the 20th century to Minnesota after WWII. These people became so real to me that I felt their joy and their pain. I miss them already!
