Decisions, decisions. Really need a good book to get over that last one. 🤔
4⭐️I debated on 3..but the lovely descriptions of the gardens, plants, and food bumped it up. (See my priorities there). A Shakespeare garden with a tragic past and is deemed “toxic”. Sorrel Sparrow has a magical gift with plants and grasps this escape to revive this English garden gem. She soon learns the story that this garden is hiding and has to find a way to reconcile the past. If not, then there is no salvation for this garden or ghost.👇🏼

Combining two prompts to catch up. My easiest flowers are from this bush in the backyard and there are also pretty flowers on the book cover. 💐The Forbidden Garden is a sequel to the author's The Sparrow Sisters. I didn't know & read them out of order which always drives me crazy 😜but I really liked the book so it was worth it to go back and read the first book.

Wonderful Christmas Eve with best friend from DC area, a sister, niece & Aunt. Happy Christmas morning Littens! Last day of work was Friday, catching up on much needed sleep. 😴 read this book; easy delightful read.
Another beautiful story about the Sparrow sisters, I'm hoping that because the ending is so open there will be more stories about the magical sisters from Granite Point. I flew through this so quickly I wish there were many more to read, that's the joy & frustration of finding a wonderful author that's still writing. They can't keep up with our reading! If gardening, manor houses, romance and a touch of Magic are your thing then look no further.💫
Another beautiful garden map! I have always wanted a walled garden. Ever since I was little, my favourite books had walled gardens in them, Toms Midnight Garden, The Secret Garden. There's something magical about a hidden garden with gravel paths, fruit trees in the corners, fountain in the middle & raised flower beds with lovely seats to relax on & the air full of perfume, birdsong & buzzing bees. Sigh.🌹🌸🌻🦋🐝🐞
Straight into the second book about the Sparrow Sisters, this one is Sorrels story. Sorrel Sparrow is hired to restore the walled Shakespeare garden at Kirkwood Hall & she is shocked by its condition. Determined to bring the garden back to life, she has to not only work on the plants, she also has to undo the heartbreak at the heart of the garden. Can't wait to dive back into the lovely Sparrow sisters stories. Thanks to @DebinHawaii for the recce
#SparklingMayBookishDreams #day3 #FlowersOnCovers These are two of my prettiest books with flowers on the covers. Honestly, both of them were #judgeabookbyitscover buys, it's a bonus, thankfully, that the stories inside those covers are as beautifully written as the cover promises.
Lovely book full of beautiful & deliciously detailed garden & food descriptions, a mysterious English garden under a possible family curse, & a little magic & mystery thrown in. My only complaint was not realizing sooner that this book follows the author's The Sparrow Sisters & my bookish OCD-self wishes I'd read them in order.😬My book tour review is paired w/Asparagus Risotto w/Sorrel-Spinach Pesto. Ain't no #litsypartyofone like an Urgent Care #litsypartyofone 😷So between yesterday's writing workshop &.spending a few hours at Urgent Care for a bronchial flare up today, it hasn't been the best weekend for reading alone-but I did get through a chunk of this book I'm reviewing this week while sitting in the waiting room w/my headphones on-so almost like a party for one!😬Got drugs, came home & napped & now cooking a pot of soup. Happy Sunday.
#SeptimusCat lords over @BookishMarginalia 's book haul. #CatsAndStacks
Book mail from the end of last week through today-all for upcoming blog book tour reviews. Yes, there are 2 copies of The Hidden Garden an #arc & a finished copy that was sent when the arc was delayed since my review is next week. Perhaps a giveaway is in order?💐📚 I'm looking forward to all of these. I've been meaning to read American Gods for ages so hopefully having a review date scheduled & the upcoming Starz series will 'get 'er done.'👍😆
Monday book mail. I like how this week's starting!
Having some serious cover lust over THE FORBIDDEN GARDEN by Ellen Herrick! This novel is perfect for fans of historical fiction and English history. Coming April 2017. 🌺🌸🌼🌹🌷💐🌻
