#readingoceania2024 #solomonislands A bit of a cheat as this is a book that largely takes place in the UK and the WWI trenches in France. However, the reminiscences of an anthropological journey to the Solomon Islands gives the book a broader view of humanity‘s relationship to death. Excellent book.

I struggled with this book. I found part 3 was the best part of the novel, but i feel the story had dragged on a little bit. This cpuld be because i was listening to it as an audio, and i may revist the trilogy again at a later date. 🌟🌟🌟

Excellent end to a superior trilogy on WWI. Billy Prior prepares to return to the front while Dr. Rivers confronts his own repressed or forgotten memories. https://cannonballread.com/2018/10/world-war-i-novels-never-end-happily/
