I love this series…and this book is my favorite to date. Hard to write a review without giving anything away, but I thought this was a great psychological thriller. A bit reminiscent of Silence of the Lambs…

I really liked this book because you learn a bit about Robert‘s personal life when he was younger. It made me cry, it was so…well, you have to read the book. Lucien Folger is truly a psychopath. I have a Bachelor‘s degree in Psychology and was working on my Masters degree in Criminal Psychology when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic migraines. With that background, that‘s why I love these books. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
“A freak accident in rural Wyoming leads the sheriff‘s department to arrest a man for a possible double homicide, but further investigations suggest a much more horrifying discovery: a serial killer who has been kidnapping, torturing, and mutilating victims all over the United States for at least twenty-five years.
The suspect claims he is a pawn in a huge labyrinth of lies and deception—but can he be believed?”
How does he do it? This one is, yet again, so good! Had to stop reading it because if I continue I‘ll have to finish it, and I would lose my sleep. Intense, addictive, creepy, and so great!
This was a far more personal foray into Robert Hunter‘s past. For the first time, he knows the killer, he knows his mind, and he knows what he is capable of. A brilliant story which ultimately gives the reader some vital insight into what made Detective Hunter the man he became. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Oh my.. This one was freaky, I loved it.. Don't know what I'm gonna do after I've caught up with Hunter.. Amazing series..
I'm coming down with a cold again and feel like crap, so wips and the next Robert Hunter book will take up some of my down time today

Not too great on the challenges this week.
This was a great group read on LT with @Andrew65 but definitely very gritty and not for the feint of heart. A very hard investigation for Robert Hunter when the culprit was his college roommate and is now a serial killer. This roller coaster ride will leave you breathless. Lots of twists and cliffhangers keep you glued until the last page. Recommended for gritty thriller lovers! Can‘t wait to read the next installment!

Boy was this book well titled, the protagonist definitely had an evil mind! These are not for the faint of heart, you have to like gritties!! However that given this was another excellent book in the series, with the lead character Robert Hunter in battle with a heinous serial killer! Robert is a great lead character. I like the short chapters too. Only disappointment was that his sidekick Garcia didn‘t appear, this reader missed him! Next! 👍
Starting book 6 in the excellent Robert Hunter Series by Chris Carter. Short chapters and good pace in this series, love the character of Robert Hunter. Doing this one for a Group Read on Librarything over the next five days. If you enjoy high quality detective series you do need to read these but they are not cozies.
Reading about crime while waiting for my supper to cook... need a distraction because I‘m bloody starving!!
Meine WTR für den Dezember 💞
