Pickpick

As always, I enjoyed Walter Dean Myers's writing. I'm glad he kept the focus on Ali's boxing career, instead of delving too deeply into his personal life. While I often enjoy comprehensive biographies, the narrowed focus made this a more accessible book for teens. I also appreciate his honest descriptions of the brutal cost of boxing. My only concern is that there should be an updated version published, since it is over 15 years old. #biography

I saw a lot of people sharing what's #onthenightstand and thought I'd join in. I usually read before bed, oftentimes with a cup of tea. These are just the larger books that I'm reading or getting ready to read. Although I love graphic novels and picture books, I rarely read them right before bed. #aprilbookshowers

I brought home a great #bookhaul from the #library this afternoon. Some of these are for a class assignment, while the others are just for fun. #toberead #libraryhaul #comics

KennethTolesJr I have that Ali book. Let me know how awesome it is! I haven't read it yet. Great Haul! 8y
Chelsibno I'm about 50 pages in. I really like Walter Dean Myers's writing style, especially when it comes to biographies. The opening is gripping and makes you want to read on. 8y

ALI! The Champ! The Greatest! I could say so much. It pains me that he's gone. RIP to the Greatest Of All Time.

My top picks from #2016Debuts!

hyacinth I really liked The Woman in Cabin 10. Is Adnan's story much different from what was covered in Serial? 8y
Smangela @hyacinth there is more detail about the case from Adnan's side, his personal life, and how Serial was run/their involvement with serial. I would say it's just more in-depth but it kept my attention! 8y
