I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.

Sunday breakfast, scarfed down while I finished FANTASY #50. (It‘s not in the database, so I tagged a book related to Genevieve Valentine‘s story herein.) I woke up starving, which meant it was time for a fried egg on hash browns, with bacon on the side.

I‘m only two issues from the end of my FANTASY stash, now. Someday, somehow, I‘ll finish the enormous digital pile of LIGHTSPEED et al I got for supporting the Destroy Science Fiction! projects.

monalyisha That bacon looks divine. 🤤 5y
xicanti @monalyisha it came out PERFECT this morning. 5y

I had never heard of this book, but it is right in my wheelhouse. I‘m a sucker for dark, maybe magical circuses, so I picked it up as soon as a fellow bookseller at the store told me about it! So far, it‘s excellent.

BekaReid I actually just got this book yesterday for a book group. Glad to hear you're enjoying it! 7y

Pickpick

I enjoyed Genevieve's writing and how she described everything. Words turned into colors and objects for me. It took me a few chapters to catch on to the back and forth of her writing. One chapter would have an ending to a problem the. The next couple chapters would tell how and what led up to the ending.
But seriously. Her descriptions. Amazing.

Nights like these I wish I had an audio book! I can't decide if I rather stitch or read. An audio book would cure it all!

PrezBookster I'm the same way with crochet! 8y

I've been meaning to read this for a while. So far, so good!

Mommamanzi I loved it! What are your thoughts? 8y
Mtroiano @Mommamanzi I really wanted to like it! I loved the story but didn't like the writing style 8y
Mommamanzi It def took me a few chapters to get used to the back and forth. It was a different writing style for sure. I ended up liking it but I don't think I couldn't handle every book I read like that. 8y

A book about a post apocalyptic circus isn't something I ever thought I would be interested in, but Mechanique has such an interesting concept of humanity it's hard to put down!

Robothugs I've really been into books with circus themes recently - this sounds very intriguing. Another book goes on the TBR. 9y
