Tales of Edgar Allen Poe | Edgar Allan Poe

“But tomorrow I die, and today I would unburden my soul.” #Spooktober carries on with more Edgar Allen Poe! Today, I read ‘The Black Cat,‘ and was wholly unprepared for its depravity. What a dark, torturous story.. at one point, I literally gasped out loud! As with most of Poe‘s work, it was very good, but it left me feeling unsettled and anxious.

I‘ve been in a major reading slump, hence my lack of posts. I‘m hoping to remedy this with a little #Spooktober action! Throughout the month, I‘m hoping to tackle lots of spooky short stories. First, “The Cask of Amontillado” - in one word, AMAZING. In two words, AMAZING and CREEPY. I really loved how so much atmosphere and suspense was created in such a short time, before I knew it, it was over. I got the shivers at the end, it‘s just that good.

Pickpick

If you don't love Poe, you can't sit at my table. In fact I may bury you beneath it, even if I have to listen to your heartbeat through the floorboards. Poe is master of the chilling and the creeping dread. High classic gothic at its unironic best. Here is my Folio version of his tales, complete with eldritch grave-mist 💀

I love these candies! But they‘re just for collecting... I don‘t want to eat them because they‘re so cute!
