This is technically the 2nd album from the 90s alt rock band For Squirrels, but I believe it's their first major label release or the first to get some radio play at any rate. Sadly, 2 of the 4 members were killed in a traffic accident right before the album was released. There's a grim irony in the tragedy because the lead single 'Mighty K.C.' was a tribute to Kurt Cobain, who took his life the previous year 👇

Billypar That's a fact I didn't even know until years later, after the internet, and specifically Wikipedia came around: the band was not well known. I only listened to the whole album a handful of times, but I still love the main single. It's steeped in the style of that time, so I'm not sure how it sounds to someone who didn't grow up with 90s alt rock, but I still love it: https://open.spotify.com/track/1abDkawNR5aFFw3gGTBkb8?si=psbKHbF2T2SPH39cS56OuA 6mo
vivastory Wow, haven't heard this in a long time. Love this song. 6mo
Billypar @vivastory It's one of those where I only remember the song and no other context, but it always stood out a bit from similar stuff. 6mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick This is still a darn good song! I have a 19-hour playlist for road trips, and this one is on it. 6mo
Billypar @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick That's a good size playlist! I make so many more playlists than I listen to, partly because if they aren't long enough, it's too easy to get tired of the songs. 6mo

I didn‘t expect to tear up trying to post this 🥺Sharon gave me this book - among quite a few others over the years we wrote one another - and this one has been in my TBR basket waiting for the right time to read it. I‘m starting our #Sharreadathon with it.

Does anybody have anything they could share with me about grieving the death of a pet? My boyfriends cat Barney passed away suddenly today and he was incredibly important to both of us, but my boyfriend specifically. I don‘t think I‘ve ever seen someone love or treat any creature as well as him with Barney. I‘ve never had a pet or known what it was like to lose one and I‘m not sure what happens now or what to do.

gradcat I can‘t think of anything right off the cuff, but I will try to come up with something. I will say that it is absolutely one of the hardest, most painful things to go through, and as I get older, I‘m almost to afraid to have a pet because of their eventual demise. But I persist...I so hope your boyfriend doesn‘t stay too sad for long....🐈😔...I‘ll be thinking of you guys. (edited) 6y
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I'm sorry to hear that. I wish I had a recommendation for you. 💕💕💕 6y
EadieB @Emilymdxn when you are ready I think it helps to get a new pet to focus on. (edited) 6y

mrsmarch I had to suddenly euthanize my beloved dog Amy in October 2017. We found out she was dying of aggressive cancer and we kept her going for a couple days so her friends could say goodbye. It was sudden, but not as sudden as Barney‘s passing. My then-4-yr-old grasped that Amy wasn‘t going to come home from her trip to the doctor. She said Amy had to go back to her wolf family and wolves can‘t live with people. 6y
mrsmarch The afternoon before we took Amy to the vet, I finished my last book cuddle with her. It was Agatha Christie‘s The Mystery of the Blue Train. I‘ll tag you in the post. 6y
