I'm so excited to continue reading this book! I've already read the first chapter and after reading why they named him Despereaux, I was so sad, but I do feel like bigger things are coming with this book which is why I look forward to find out!

After completing this book, I've realized how much growth and courage was taken place. I've reflected on how much I have done with same being in my early 20's, I've learning, loved, lost, and grown from all my experiences in life (and it wasn't easy). Jude's journey is very inspiring and I learned a lot from what this book had to offer.

I wanted to discuss what is going on with Jude's emotions, how she feels while missing her family back at home, worrying about her cousin Sarah, and being away from the people she loves. I couldn't image going through all of this pain, especially alone. It takes a lot within a person so go through something like this and still be positive. This book is very inspiring.

Jude is experiencing so much right now in her life and making good changes for herself. I'm glad she has finally been able to wear her scarf and wear it with confidence! I remember in the beginning she was dying to wear it, and now she is finally able to!

After reading, I've fallen in love with the power and energy the books gives off. A quote that really stuck out to me was “Hope, I'm starting to think, might be the bravest thing a person can do.“ I love the courage it takes to see what capabilities she has.

I can‘t believe Jude left home and decided to leave her family behind. She had is such an amazing character and she has overcome a lot of challenges in her life. I can‘t Believe she did something so brave, I don‘t think I could‘ve done something like this at her age. Do you think you would have been able to accomplish the same things as Jude?

This book is about a girl named Jude who lives in Syria. After reading the first few chapters, I can see how Jude is starting to view her life there due to the fact that she notices how few tourists are visiting as time goes on. I know what it‘s like to live in the Middle East so I can somehow relate or have an understanding to the feelings that she has. #NCHPedsReads #JanPedsReads
