Jude is going through a lot of changes right now! The biggest thing going on in her life right now is she is finally able to wear a scarf! I remember in the beginning of the story she felt Fatima was “kilometers ahead of her” since she was the first girl in their class to wear a scar. On a side note, I loved this quote ❤️ #FEBPedsReads #NCHPEDsReads

CodyFordPEDS I know there are people in my life that support me and make me feel like fully baked bread. I think we all need those people to get through the roughest and undefined parts of life! I‘m glad Jude found that in herself and others! @NCHPedsReads #FebPEDSReads 5y
HappyMaddy Awe I love this. I like to bake bread, literally & figuratively!!! Jude really warms my heart like baked bread too. @NCHPedsReads #FebPEDSReads 5y

Wow! I absolutely loved this quote and thought it was such a powerful way to end part 3 of this book. Sometimes having hope can be the hardest thing to do and it can also be the bravest. I love how in the ending of pet 3 she talks about her brother and her love from him. #FEBPedsReads #NCHPedsReads

Johernandez I definitely relate to that statement! Sometimes when you don‘t have anything at least you can have a little hope! 5y
CodyFordPEDS I agree with this quote wholeheartedly. Hope is something we all should continue to have but it‘s hard to get back up when you have been knocked down. I think it‘s hard even though we are blessed with such a first world lifestyle in America. We get bombarded with media showing other people‘s successes. It can be hard to power through that barrage. @NCHPedsReads #FebPEDSReads 5y
sydneydaniels What a great quote to pull out of the text. It portrays Jude‘s feelings so well! 5y

Spoiler Alert! Jude has just left what she use to call home! I can not imagine how she must be feeling in this moment! I remember when I was young and I moved from New York to Florida I was so scared. I was worried about my new school, and how life was gonna change going from a city to a more suburban area and so much more, but at least I stood in the U.S. How do you guys think Jude is feeling? #JanPedsReads #NCHPedsReads

sydneydaniels Gio, I‘m sure Jude is feeling nervous or scared just like any other person would. She is so brave to be able to move from home! 5y
Bshelton27 I have personally never made a big move like that but, I couldn‘t imagine. I would be so nervous! I‘m glad the author wrote about this in her story because I feel like we will have students in similar situations as Jude! #JanPedsReads #NCHPedsReads 5y

Just started reading “Other Words for Home” by Jasmine Warga and although I have just scratched the surface of this book I must say I am already in love with this book! From reading the first few chapters I love the main character Jude! I also think Fatima is hilarious as she “hates math” but never fails to remind Jude that she is 24 days, 6 hours and 11 minutes older than her! #JANPedsReads #NCHPedsReads

DrSpalding Some students will relate to Fatima. It‘s a great book. Enjoy!❤️📚 5y
