Sunday evening done right.
Aw yeah!
Bedtime and starting a new book. I love when that happens.
Time to start this historical mystery. The opening chapter shows plenty of promise!
What an insane, intense, and magical story! The only weakness was a rather weak and somewhat whiny main character but once she womans up, the story takes off. I cannot wait to see what the next book holds!
I have been so anxious to read this one. Started it last night and I cannot wait to dive back into it!
A tragic and heartfelt story about the double standards for women, especially mothers, when it comes to how they live their life. This book may take place in the 1960s, but things have really not changed all that much.
I tried this in print and couldn't get past the first chapter. I'm much farther along in the audio. However, the audio version of the alien voices is not one for those who struggle with mouth sounds. I have no idea how I am continuing to listen but here we are.
This story about first loves and loss is good but definitely intended for a younger audience. The main character is so young, and his reactions are very appropriate for his age. However, that also means it gets a bit tedious after a while. Still, it is a sweet story that will have you reflecting on your own first love.
A fantastic murder mystery with stellar writing. It doesn't get much better than this.
This has one of the most beautiful and haunting opening chapters. I can't wait to see what the rest of the book holds!
One of the best books I have read in a long, long time.
More adventures of the fabulous Irene Winters and her entourage. I love seeing her grow from book to book. Plus, we learn just a little bit more about the Library in this one that may be setting the stage for future adventures. Fans will not want to miss this one!
Time to find out what shenanigans Irene gets herself into this time (and whether she finally has sexy times with sexy Kai)!
It reminded me of A Court of Thorns and Roses but was different enough to keep me reading it in one sitting. Plus, I really love the symbolism of a woman able to control and use the power of fire.
What a satisfying ending to a fantastic series. I am so glad Ms. DeSpain was able to find a publisher because it was worth the wait.
What a stunner of a novel! The phrase "emotional roller coaster" seems inadequate to describe the wide range of emotions this book generated in me. It is going to take me a few days to process my thoughts into coherence but my immediate reaction is one of stunned awe.
I'm not certain this is the best book to read on a road trip with kids in the car given how much I want to swear at it. And I'm only a quarter of the way through.
This is undoubtedly one of the best way fantasy novels I've read in a long, long time. The formidable amount of world building could detract from Mia's story. Instead, he incorporates it in such a way that it is integral and absolutely fascinating. I cannot wait for the rest of Mia's story!
It is difficult to describe any book that depicts the life of a slave as fantastic reading, but Colson Whitehead does an amazing job doing just that. His interpretation of the Underground Railroad is clever but in no way takes away from Cora's story. A definite must-read.
This is not for everyone. Scranton scrutinizes the second Iraqi war in much the same way as Tim O'Brien did the Vietnam conflict. Brutal, cold and yet somehow eerily poetic, it is not a novel you can enjoy but that you can appreciate for its contribution to literature and the harsh truths it has to tell.
What a gorgeous book. Stunning in its simple message and poignancy. An absolute must-read.
Liane Moriarty always does a great job of writing about modern marriages and friendships. Her latest is no different as it is by turns engaging and honest - sometimes brutally so. I didn't like it as much as BIG LITTLE LIES but it was still an excellent book.
Cute YA that explores the reasons for the Salem Witch Trials. A little bit of witchcraft rounds out the story to make it a fast-paced and enjoyable read.

Christopher Farnsworth does it again. Exciting and intense, this is a novel you can easily finish in one sitting because you just can't stop reading.

What a stunning novel. Intense and real. I didn't want it to end. Well done, Mr. Crouch. Well done.
I have been waiting to read this one for two months. Time to dive in!
Definitely a heart-stopper. I knew I wasn't going to let the dates without finishing it.
Started this last night. It's not going to be a very productive day until I finish it.
I haven't seen anyone else read this, but the premise is intriguing so I am going to give it a shot.
