The story is fun and entertaining. The highlight is the narrator, Odd. I would read any book from his point of view. His blend of melancholy sass and brooding optimism is a treat. I cam see why Koontz wrote a series for him.

I loved this! There is a tion of information and the author presents it beautifully. If you are wanting to be an author, or just want to increase your writing ability for yourself, I cannot recommend this enough. I'm off to work on the workbook now!
"Now, strengthen your resolve... Ready? You're about to plunge into the middle of... everything."
This is book two in my year of working on my craft. Mosley gives great ideas and thoughts into writing without coming off as a lecture. Indeed, this book reads like a novella. I recommend it to any writer, new or advanced.
"You will not become a writer by aping the tones and phrases, form and content, of great books of the past."
This is great, to be a writer you need to write, not just read. The masters are important, but so is the book you haven't written yet!
Fish comprises sentences with the utmost eloquence. While he dissects famous sentences, his own fit among the most well written. If you want to understand how to see sentences with a critical eye would do good to read this book. Yet, Fish sometimes drags on making the reading tedious at times. Mostly, he gives the reader the benefit of the doubt and assumes an educated and intelligent individual. 4/5 stars! Thank you Mr. Fish.
Starting my new year right! Picked these up from the library this afternoon.
I met the author at a Comic-Con and bought the first instalment in the Gina Harwood series. I'm very impressed. Though a bit short, this acts a great introduction to this heroine and the author Indi Martin. I look forward to the sequals.
Great book. The ending is slightly disappointing at first, but after further consideration I respect the ending and find it satisfactory. I love science, so I appreciated the scientific aspects of the book. However, if you do not like that sort of thing, you will most likely find this a laborious read at times.
My first attempt at a Crichton book. I didn't want to start with Jurassic Park due to the movies being so ingrained in me. I have no bias to this book so I focus it was a better intro to his writing style. :)
The forward warns that the book is barely edited as it was published posthumously. This was to keep it close to Twain's actually state of mind. The book is very informative. However, listening to the audio book was mind numbing. Mark Twain's stream of conscious writing gives the reader detailed descriptions of the minute details of breakfast, without substance. A must read for Twain enthusiasts, but a pass for the casual Twain reader.
For all the holiday traffic!
My kid is obsessed with this Stephen King book. I'm so proud :D
Light hearted enough to pass as a bedtime story for children (especially with the song) but creepy enough to make you wonder. Beryl Evans (Stephen King) does a great job blending disturbing with children's literature.
Working on promotional materials while on my break at work! Only one week left until I send out free, signed, paperback copies of The Evil Locked Within to a few select Littens. There are only a few left, comment here for your chance to win!
Hello all! My next novel is now available! I will be choosing a few lucky Littens to receive a paperback copy, signed by me, so that you can read and, hopefully, leave a review! I'll be showcasing my last book for the Southern Maryland Comic-Con for my birthday, today! If you're in the area, stop by and pick up a signed copy at a special birthday price, a free copy of the first chapter for The Evil Locked Within (limited quantities, coming in December) and talk to me about what YOU think makes a great book.
Would you, as a reader, pick up a free printout of the first chapter of a new release? Two weekends from now I will be at a Comic Con selling copies of one of my other books and giving away free printouts of the first chapter of the next book that's already been edited and is just waiting on a cover. If you were to see that would you pick a free copy up?
Another cute story from Stine. a nice read, though not my favorite. If you're a fan you should pick this up, if you're looking to find a first read by this classic children's author I would look elsewhere.
This is a cute YA book. Stine has a fun and exciting mind. I love the end!
Regardless of your political leanings, this is a great look at history through an objective lense. Morris starts this book at the beginning of Roosevelt's first term and ends it at his leaving office. A must read for history buffs. Note: this reads like a novel and not a history book.
I was so worried when I got near the end that it was just going to have some due ex machina and I would be let down but as I write this on my phone I have my computer open and I'm buying the sequel from Amazon. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. The characters are alive, the point of views are great, it is very fast paced (I crushed this book in two days.) This is a great suspense book about human nature. Definitely a must-read.
I started this book this morning and I'm already over half-way through. It is really good. I cannot to wait to do a review of this soon. As you can see, I have a date tonight!
This is a nonfiction book about the evolution of secret codes and cryptography. Sometimes truth is more interesting than fiction. I dare you to read this and NOT be inspired to become 007!
This is a great collection for any poet or lover of poetry. Frost is one of my top 2 favorite poets of all time (the other being Poe). I highly recommend it.
Today I got this in the mail, my new banner for my first Comic-Con! If you're in the D.C., Maryland, Virginia area come to the Southern Maryland Comic-Con and stop by and see me! We can talk about my latest book Becoming Nick, my previous works (Her Last Nights, Suzy), we can talk about your favorite books, or any geek love you want! I love meeting new people! #SoMDCC #supportindieauthors #horrorandsuspense
"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast"
Life as a writer.
It took me a long time to get to reading this book. Like many people, I assume, I saw the Disney version First in their life. The book is so much more magical and so much more entertaining. It is such a Wonder to read that after reading it, it became one of my all-time favorite books.
There are two versions of this book. The first version is the one you read in grade school and can appreciate it for the story that it is and for the characters and for the writing. The second version is the one you read as an adult and it's an entirely different story; there's an entirely different meaning. It's one of the reasons why this is such a classic.
I warn you if you read this book you're going to have to read all the other ones in the series and the side series that comes with it. You will not be able to stop yourself. This is one of my favorite authors of all time I have read many many of his books and I can't recommend them enough.
I first got into reading this author with Ender's Game I read that entire series and then my cousin recommended this book. It is amazing it is totally different than the rest of his works that I've read but it's fun it's exciting it's a great take on fantasy from (in my experience) a sci-fi writer.
Great first book from this indie author. The parts are short so I recommend getting all three together. I would love to see more.
This is the book that first got me into fantasy. I highly recommend it!
This is a great classic from a great writer. I recommend it for a suspenseful read!
