I couldn‘t sleep the other night, so I went and downloaded this from the library and started reading. This book is VERY GOOD and if you read it to help you fall asleep you will have VERY WEIRD dreams.
I will read LITERALLY ANY western that Erin Bowman writes. And who designed the covers for this and Vengeance Road? They‘re a GENIUS. The audiobook was great.
I want someone to explain to me why there are only two books set in this world and not 1000.
This book is fun and cute and gentle, and such a good comfort read.
The sentence-level writing in this is EXTREMELY GOOD. It‘s a heart breaking and hopeful read.
If you like Stranger Things you‘ll like Paper Girls! I love friendship!
Haunted house IKEA! Thrills! Chills! Bad decision making! This book is a fun, quick read that will probably satisfy your horror itch but won‘t leave an everlasting mark on your mind. Entirely serviceable!
I absolutely love that so much of this story is framed by Cindy talking to her therapist. It‘s genius, and encouraging.
Loved it, and have just learned that apparently it‘s been cancelled so eff you Marvel
Currently using this volume as a bookmark for volume one so that should tell you something about how engaging and good the story is. Only small complaint is that the changing art style is a wee bit jarring.
You know when you get something on hold at the library and can‘t for the life of you remember why you put it on hold in the first place but you give it a fighting chance and it turns out to be a fun lil read?
VERY GOOD and of course beautiful to look at. Dark high fantasy with a matriarchal bent, yes please. I already have vol 2 out from the library.
The magic in this book kicks ass and so do the characters. At a couple parts it felt a bit rushed BUT I loved it. Highly recommend.
I NEED TO WRITE AN ADVANCE DIRECTIVE
I enjoyed the movie more than the book! Perhaps because Charlize Theron kicks everyone‘s ass in the movie.
Christmas is a good time to reread favs from your youth
I‘ve always liked Shannon Hale and I liked the movie adaptation of this book, so I had decently high expectations and the book was delightful, so I‘d say I recommend it.
Despite a few qualms with questionable motives and very poor decision-making etc, this was an enjoyable read/listen, and of course I love a cozy mystery. And a mystery within a mystery is even better.
I absolutely need the next volume and dammit it won‘t come out for a long time. Paranormal dystopiaaaaaa
A slightly misleading title on a good, well-researched and well-illustrated book.
This is a memoir of the first two years spent at a residential school in the Arctic. Books like this should be mandatory for all Canadians.
Caitlin Moran isn‘t perfect and neither is her feminism, but I still quite liked this book. She reads the audio version and it‘s delightful. I‘d suggest reading this and then reading something like I‘m Judging You / Luvvie Ajayi.
I love a small-town-dark-secrets story and this one for the bill. Similar in feel to Wolf Winter / Cecilia Ekback which I highly recommend. I am easily spooked, so this was a daytime read.
This was only okay. It felt like an early draft, and has a very deus ex machina ending.
There is a LOT of rigorous academic work in this book, and I greatly benefited from reading it.
Don‘t know quite what to say about this other than you need to read it, along with all Canadians.
This book is beautiful and kind, and reminded me of my own youth and the experiences of my friends and family. The illustrations are lovely and evocative, and the story moves beautifully.
Greetings friends! Not only is this book 100% fake it is also: complete shite!
Listen, I think "should" is a judging word and I avoid using it, BUT I THINK everyone should read everything John Allison writes.
It was fine! A little jumpy and disorganized re: the plot, and a few moments where I had to work hard to suspend my disbelief because the characters took a long time to make simple connections and conclusions. But enjoyable all the same.
DO NOT read Dahmer's Wikipedia page at bedtime after finishing this book.
This book is pretty dumb but I enjoyed most of it! Cw for brief sexual violence (the handling of which is not good! Spoiler: I do not care if it was just in a dream! Still bad!).
Read this while sitting quietly in a round chair. A calming and thoughtful little book.
Fun and gossipy and truthful! Highly recommend the audiobook, Carrie read it.
This book! Is so good! Little vignettes of life in a company town in Quebec that only existed as long as a dam power plant was operational.
Today I saw Wonder Woman and read vol 1 of Bitch Planet and there need to be more women in every movie and every book forever and ever amen.
I finally got on the Rosie Project train and TURNS OUT everyone was right and it IS delightful and I stayed up til 4:00am finishing it.
This book not only made me absolutely slather myself in moisturizer in an effort to be ashy never, but made me think about ways I can confront racism in my life. This book does it all AND had me laughing out loud on the bus.
