I love this book. The prose is perfect and just plain fun. Tight plot, dark af, a tiny masterpiece.

View from the bed nook in our cabin. I'm reading in here all day. This book is a huge bummer so far.
Had no idea what was going on but couldn't put it down. Fully reading until 4 am by the tiny cabin nightlight. Felt like Darnielle put on a trucker hat and some Boggs and started chewing a piece of hay all "Folk from round here, we don't much take kindly to city folk" but was trying hard? The writing was pretty awesome though. Was hoping it'd be a little creepier. Heartwarming in places, how it's a gift to have a functional family.
Been meaning to read Nimona since we got the ARC at our bookstore way back when. Finally cracked it (from the Ashland library) and it's a fucking delight. Pure joy.
Hufflepuff scarf for JC!
So I was about to stop listening to this book cause of the weird casual sexism I didn't really have time for, but I looked it up on Litsy and everyone was like "plots great, loved it" so I kept with it for a few more chapters and it's getting gooood.
Starting Woman in White. One day I'll actually read a book with like, pages. One day when all my knitting is done, and listening to books while knitting isn't just the best.
Got these speakers & turn table for xmas. Feels goodto be able to listen to records again after a good three years. I think they fit in great between the books & crafts. Finished the wonderful Confessions of the Fox while setting it up.
Here's some of the last-minute xmas knitting. I fucking love some chunky yarn... They'll never know it only took me two hours to knit this long-ass scarf. #knitting #audiobooks
Starting this'n while I do some last minute xmas knitting.
This book is fun as hell, Guy is ridiculously charming and I love him (and maybe Canada now too?). Shout-out to the #audiobook which is read by Guy and I feel his voice & delivery adds so much.
Putting together my #bookriot #readharder challenge list!
Still need suggestions for:
#ownvoices books in Oceania, Mexico, or Central America
A cozy mystery
Historical romance by an AOC
A business book
Nonviolent true crime
Middle grade YA that won a diversity award since 2009
A self published book
Pick I guess? New to Litsy and having a difficult time with the rating system so far... But I want those sweet internet book points so here we are. This book was kind of surprisingly affecting for me. Also dual-nature based horror is very on brand for me as a Gemini 😂
Starting How to Sit by Tyrese Coleman! I bought it because of one of the un-ignorable Powell's endcaps. Powell's endcaps are works of art.
Didn't have the read-iest of years #in2018, but it was better than 2017. Let's see... The thing I regret not doing the most out of these is not having attended a book festival. I gave up on Lady Chatterley's Lover. I bought from #bloomsburybooks in downtown Ashland OR. I read a few classics, reread Harry Potter like I always do, and bought a #Pantheon edition of Russian Fairy Tales because of its cover.
Finished the audiobook on LibriVox. Wished I read it as a book I guess, feel like I woulda been more into it.
New audio book. Needed something for Xmas knitting and to listen to in the tub. Been meaning to read this'n for years and it just felt like the right moment.
Trying out the LibriVox app with Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde. Kind of wish I were reading this one instead of audio booking it but i needed something to listen to while cleaning. It's aight so far.
Cabin vacation in White Salmon stack. Could Guy Branum be any more delightful?
I mean, I'm a huge fan of the podcast but this comic is kind of amazing in it's own right for the narrative playfulness and perfect artwork.
Great adventure novel. Gave me some good ideas for D&D characters and campaigns.
No thanks, Mr. Lawrence.
