"Organ talk was similarly popular. Chaplin and Bogart led the list of the well endowed; equal time was devoted to those who did not measure up."
YA contemporary told entirely via emails, IMs, letters, notes and postcards. Interesting in concept, but unfortunately lacks some much needed character development.
Used to being only a "pretty face in a fat body", Hayley travels to Italy and starts to embrace herself just the way she is through new experiences and a budding romance.
Incredibly written novel about love, reincarnation, past and the future. Includes an incredibly well thought out time travel component!
Zephyr has a plan for her future, but when she meets the Alec, their innocent crush starts to escalate into something serious and possibly dangerous. An incredibly well-paced, beautifully written and terrifying tale of falling in and out of love
An honest look at how much being a teenager can suck. The main character Harper does mistakes and goes through a lot, but gets new chances in friendships and love. Harper and Declan are wonderfully flawed which makes them feel oh, so real!
This is perfect for someone who wants a little magic with their contemporary novels. I was blown away by Emily Henry's world building and prose, and had such a great time reading this book. The romance is also ON POINT!
Zentner writes so beautifully, and introduces a set of characters easy to fall in love with. This book broke my heart completely, and then helped me to put myself back together.
Touching, real, funny, romantic and so much more. If you haven't read anything by Emery Lord already, do it now!
A new favorite! Once I started, I couldn't put this down. The way Plath writes about Esther trying to find her way in life is incredibly touching.
Current, touching, educative, lyrical, interesting. A must-read!
because white men can't police their imagination black men are dying
Sometimes you can be inserted into another person's life just by witnessing something you were never really supposed to be a part of.
Beautifully written YA debut with intriguing setting (Alaska in the 1970s) and a wonderfully developed, diverse set of characters. I had a hard time putting this one down.
