I couldn‘t resist this in the Folio Society summer sale. I am current re-reading my Folio “Anne of Green Gables” before I dive into this one.

Visited the Mission Inn Museum today (I‘ve lived about 15 minutes away for the past 6 years and finally got around to visiting). Of course, no visit to a museum gift shop is complete without picking up a couple of books.

Not quite finished with this yet, but I am really enjoying it. The math is not intimidating and I have a much better understanding of how AI works.

What I‘ve read so far of the two bags of books I brought home from work to read over the summer. Two YA nonfiction, one graphic novel, two YA fiction and a reread of The Handmaid‘s Tale in anticipation of the sequel being released this fall.

This has been on my TBR list for a while. I finally picked up a copy a few weeks ago. Only a few chapters in, but so far, so good. I do wish it had illustrations, though. I‘d love to see some of the manuscripts described in the book!

I started this this morning and I‘m already about halfway through. I brought home way too many books for summer break, so I‘m trying to read the quick ones first!

Ending my work year by finishing one of our newest books. Norris is a black French Canadian kid who loves hockey. So what is he doing in Texas? This was a fun book about stereotypes and fitting in. Norris is a witty narrator.

Genre fiction can be problematic at times. You want it to be familiar (after all, you like the genre for a reason) but not too familiar. The Name of the Wind gets it right. All the familiar tropes are there (orphaned child destined for greatness, magical school, dragons, evil supernatural creatures, an enigmatic love interest) but with enough of a twist to make the whole thing seem fresh. I can't wait to start book 2!

I have heard so many great things about this series and this copy had been sitting on my TBR shelf for far too long. I‘m about to start chapter 79 and so far I have been loving it. I should be done soon, especially since I only have 3 work days left of this school year! #CavsRead
