The glass castle is the story of Jeannette walls, from a life of poverty into adulthood. Jeannette gives us her experiences and thoughts while we as the audience are able to gain an insight into her family and life. If you like books that tell the story of a persons life and their hardships than this is the book for you. Jeannette uses the first person view through the techniques of using words like “I“ “Me“ “We“ and “Us“.
jratm summary of the entire book- The book follows the life of Jeannette and her family. Her parents are neglectful, and often don't adhere to their children's needs. Her early life has a lot of moving around and this is where the core concept of the Glass Castle is introduced, a promised future never to be fulfilled. As Jeannette's grows up her childlike innocence begins to fade and she becomes disillusioned of her parents actions. 3y
jratm Summary of the entire book 2- This growth that Jeannette experiences has got her wanting to move out as soon as possible. This causes the children to have desires to move out as soon as possible and they decide on New York. Eventually when everybody's old enough they move out and, through the skills and hardship they experience at home are able to grow on to become hard working well kept adults 3y
