The World According to Anna | Jostein Gaarder
Pickpick

An enjoyable and accessible novelisation of the dangers of climate change. If I could recommend one book to Donald Trump, it would be this one. There are many other serious works he needs to read, but this one is perhaps written simply enough for him to comprehend.

Balibee146 I'm about two thirds through and loving it. Some breathtaking phrases and passages.... 8y
dcossai @Balibee146 haven't read much of it so far but I love the way it's divided into very short chapters! 8y

Panpan

A novel with potential to be one of the best recent psychological thrillers but which remains unfulfilled. All of its twists are predictable. In its merit, the novel fantastically depicts the psychology of a transgender character and makes great use of the double to achieve dramatic effect, but an ending in which an obviously transgender character - clearly so since early childhood - becomes male again and wants a muscle car is outrageous. #lgbt

Poignant, but the reality for so many minorities and people who have experienced great suffering or loss. Incredibly refreshing to see this addressed in a novel. #sadquote #ambition #distress

The Stranger | Albert Camus
Mehso-so

Away from the Absurdist and Existentialist ideas in the novel of which much has been made, 'The Stranger' offers ab enlightening glimpse into the workings of the mind of a sociopath while exhibiting the harsh reality of society's inescapable effect on the individual.

Survival often depends on a character transcending its original work. Lisbeth Salander is in good company; think of Sherlock Holmes and James Bond. Lagercrantz delivers well. His writing is good and he follows Larsson's formula closely, both formally and plotwise - Millenium is struggling financially and Blomkvist becomes, once again, Sweden's hottest journalist.
