One of the best books I've read in awhile. Brilliant storytelling with a chilling and tragic plot.

At first I was worried that the "2 books in 1" thing was a gimmick, but this is quality science fiction that never loses its message throughout the story.
1. Cut a hole in a box.
2. Put your book in that box.
3. Make her open the box.
And that's the way you do it!
Super fuckin weird book that only could've been written in San Francisco in the 1960s.
This book was purchased by the library 7 years before I was born.
I'm excited to start books by this creepy-ass motherfucker.
Answers the question of "what would America look like if the civil war hadn't happened" and answers it rather well. He went very in-depth into the law surrounding slavery and the economic repercussions, but his characters were hard to keep straight.
Very much a feminist zine while still being very much a comic. I can't wait to see what volume 2 brings! Hurry up!

For some reason it's taking me forever to get through this book.
Are all of these pictures of my currently-reading books on my lap an excuse to show off my tattoo? Probably.
It's hard to rate this book as two stars because I still think it's worth reading for various reasons. It's a thriller that DOESN'T revolve around a gone girl or a seemingly nice woman who is, SHOCKER, psychopathic. Something that's increasingly hard to find thanks to the frustrating trends publishers are constantly trying to chase.
Reading my ebook in the library to feel more bookish. I guess it's working??
Started this one today after finishing The Handsmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood.
Big hype, will it live up though?
Reading with a cat is almost worse than reading with five kids.

This book has a slow start, I'm hoping it picks up. I'm sure that the timing of the release around the olympics wasn't accidental!
Although one of the essay definitely felt disjointed from the others despite her attempts to circle it around to her main theme, the majority of this book was thought-provoking to the point of jarring.
Pretty good but it was structured strangely.
LOVED THIS SO MUCH.
If I was her editor I would've taken out a few adjectives cause she was a bit flowery but wow. What a story.
Pretty good though I think I read it 10 years later than I should've.
A decent book but it wasn't as dark as I was hoping. It definitely felt realistic and had me looking over my shoulder every day for a week though!
Beautiful novel, especially if you love multiple storylines and timeframes.
I'm in love. The perfect thriller full of mystery and suspense
If George RR Martin respected his fans enough to finish the series without tacking on other projects to squeeze out every last cent then maybe I'd finish his books.
This book tied in perfectly with Mud Vein and I couldn't put it down. Excellent writing combined with excellent story crafting.
