My current read. I‘m excited to finally be reading this one. It has languished on my Kindle TBR for a number of years, and, this year, one of my reading goals is to read some of the titles I‘ve managed to collect, both in hard copy and on my Kindle. Plus Joyce Carol Oates, so, yay!
Just starting this, our next selection for book club. Our theme is African American Voices. I am excited to read this. #FirstSaturdayReaders
Up next for book club, and my current read. #FirstSaturdayReaders
The readers in our group are the best. Today one of our members joined our meeting via Zoom from her hospital room! #FirstSaturdayReaders
Sea of Tranquility is my Book of the Year for 2024, the only book to earn a 5-star rating from me this year. Outstanding in every way and highly recommended.
Up next for book club. Our theme for January is graphic novel. #FirstSaturdayReaders
When you can‘t believe what you read so you create a spot to commemorate it in your reading journal.
Last 50 or so pages of this plus discussion question prep for book club tomorrow = my Friday night #FirstSaturdayReaders
For the first time, my book club has chosen to try themed readings. In 2025, we will pick selections that fit (in any way we choose) that month‘s theme. I‘m excited to try this. #FirstSaturdayReaders
Book club Halloween-ish meeting to discuss Shirley Jackson‘s “We Have Always Lived in the Castle.” #FirstSaturdayReaders
NYC trip commemorated in my book journal. A good day with some of the members of my book club. #FirstSaturdayReaders
Current read. I picked this up on a whim a number of years ago and loved it. Later I found out it was part of a series but the original edition I bought made no mention of that. Rereading and enjoying it all over again. #Halloween
Took me one month to the day, but I finished. As challenging in its own way as Rushdie‘s THE SATANIC VERSES. Book discussion a few weeks away. A big “whew” from me! #FirstSaturdayReaders
Finished PARABLE OF THE SOWER for September book club, and thought I‘d get a head start on October‘s door stop of a book, THE NAME OF THE ROSE. #FirstSaturdayReaders
September, October and November for book club. #FirstSaturdayReaders #bookclub
Book club Saturday means book club prep Friday night. #FirstSaturdayReaders
Putting this “Read Across the USA” section in my reading journal, and I‘m happily surprised at how much I‘m already able to fill in from what I‘ve already read! Go, me! #ReadingJoutnal
I will gladly share my gently used copy of Slaughterhouse-Five with a reader in the United States. If you are interested, please comment on this post.

Current read. Bought this at a thrift store about 30 years ago and had it in my TBR pile ever since. My first Roth.
Book group trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. #FirstSaturdayReaders #TheMet
I‘m a lifelong reader but I‘ve always struggled with poetry. Recently I saw a post online about a completely unrelated subject that had someone comment, “Explain it to me like I‘m 8,” and I thought, “Gee, I wish someone would explain poetry to me like I‘m 8.” Cue the Amazon search, and here we are with my current read!
