It had everything I love - - a taste of the paranormal, American history, great character development, warmth, and it came full circle at the end by revisiting Hadley, Mass. Harkness always makes me feel for her characters - - even if they are vampires and witches! The only thing I wish it had was a summary of characters in the beginning as I read the trilogy so long ago that I forgot some of the story lines associated with each.

All her books are the same so I was hoping for something different.... it was a horrible read. No plot, no character development, not even fluff. I ended up skimming thinking it would get better. Live and learn!

Have not read Danielle Steel in ages as I don't always enjoy her, but this was a very entertaining read. The main character irked me at times but she redeemed herself by the end of the story!
