The book, is a great dystopia. The way society works and the role women play in it, is really interesting. Nevertheless the story is quite slow and at some point unnecessary long. Nevertheless the book really takes it time so that the reader can get to know the protagonist and also the way she thinks.

I am at page 250, I believe the main thing I have learned about the book is that there is nothing worse than a broken spirit, when people give all of what they believe in up, just to live for a little longer, or because they are afraid of what might happen to them. So they just live a life that is not alright for them, feeling out of place every single moment.

“I believe in the resistance as I believe there can be no light without shadow; or rather, no shadow unless there is also light” I hate it when I read such a quote and have no one to talk to about it. P.S. Physicists can agree with me on this one 👆

This a book that can be read quite fast. The content is quite simple but I do believe it makes the reader think about his life situation especially talking about happiness. Definitely recommend it.

The whole plot and story of the novel is not an all time great, what really makes 1984 great is the way the state convinces the people to side with them. There are many examples in history of people who try to convince others with a radical thinking, what they failed to do is what was achieved by the state in 1984, an ideology connected to a “leader” is destined to be destroyed, but a faceless ideology is timeless.

It is definitely an alright book. Has some dystopia factors to it, but most of them aren‘t just something new (but the way materialism is dealt with in Qualityland is actually pretty interesting). The story itself is not really intriguing, but again quite alright.

Such a great book. Perfect for someone who want to be thrown into a story and experience how little by little the whole situation starts to escalate. The reader is quite intrigued by who is responsible for the situation and is definitely given certain “hints”.
