3.5❄️⛷️Coworkers developing a music App go on a ski trip & when one doesn't return from the slopes, suspicions arise. Then an avalanche traps them in the chalet. A few murders occur, making for a claustrophobic thriller. This is told from 2 points of view. I was bored at first w/ all of the hipster corp business talk & the characters weren't always likeable, but once the mystery begins & the threat of freezing temps increases,I couldn't put it down

4️⃣🎨🖌 Tess is turning her family vacation home into a B&B. The back room has been boarded up her whole life. During renovations, the room is opened to discover her grandfathers art studio & hidden disturbing paintings. She hears scratching at night & has weird dreams which leads to questions about what happened in the room & is something trapped in there. Half cozy strangers to lovers, half horror, I loved how things developed & were revealed.❄️

?4️⃣☃️It was a rough December & I've never felt less "Christmasy". I needed this book for its' cozy, easy reading & happy ending. A Groundhog Day time loop set in Park City, UT-one of my favorite places, so I loved this. The romance was friends to lovers & it delivered. It felt real, it was flirty & fun to read. Snowy winter fun, board games, the hilarity (sometimes uneasiness) of the time loop, sneaking around romance & family tradition.✨️

OBSESSED???✨️ Set in the 80s with new wave/punk culture, Jade falls in love with a victorian ghost who she cannot touch. With family secrets, Egyptian mythology, & growing admiration for eachother they try to figure out why they were destined to meet, all while Jade deals with high school drama, new "misfit" friends, & a jock who likes her even though she's not popular. The end is a cliff hanger. I need book 2! Date TBA- should be end of '24??

🕷🕷🕷½ spiders for this cozy book about a girl who befriends a witch even though the whole town is affraid of her and/or sucks up to her to stay on her good side. I really loved the description of the town & Sophie's house, I want to teleport there. The pet spider was a cute added touch. I really liked the ending & it could be used to start a sequel, which could be really cool. Overall, it was a fun, fall read with a few creepy parts🏡🕷🏰🕸🍵

🥧 4/5 pies for the original tale of the demon barber. It was published as a series of penny dreadfuls in 1846-7.Only 4 characters are the same-Mr. Todd, Mrs. Lovett, Tobias, & Johanna.Johanna is not Todds daughter, hes not seeking revenge.Even though it is so different from what we know (the play & film) i really enjoyed it. It felt like an entirely different story and I had no idea how it was going to unfold. film/play stray so much from the OG.

5☆●I believe this book is the truest, most humble account of the bands history & also a look into the personal life, thoughts, & feelings of guitar player, Robby Krieger. A collection of his personal memories that tell the stories as he knew & lived it. He debunks myths, rumors, & misrepresentations of Jim/the band as shown in TV & other books. He has an entertaining dry sense of humor & states how & why his retellings differ from his bandmates.

🌶🍷🔥🥀Dark, spicy, intense romance. Inspired by Hades & Persephone using a mafia hitman & mafia don's daughter marriage plot. it's 5/5 for steam, some of the scenes were repetitive(certain words & phrases were used a lot) I think the description of the longing they had & love development was well written, I really enjoyed the use of poetry. 🚨TW: Forced marriage, Violence, Rough sexual scenes involving blood play, Seduction at a young age.

✨️??A whodunit in prohibition NYC set around a jazzy speakeasy and seedy streets with diverse characters. A dive into what society was like with the added suspense of a murder. Vivian sets out to find out who did it and why by persuasion of the club owner who she is attracted too while also falling for mysterious Leo Green. A love triangle has started and I will definitely be reading the sequel "The Last Drop of Hemlock" to find out who gets who

5️⃣🌟Im not sure I can say whether I liked the book or movie better, they give such strong reasons to love both in different ways. The movie has the incredible actors, directing, and cinematography. The book gives more detail and background info of the lives of each character- Flashbacks that help to understand the relationships and gives them more of a personality rather then being just a mobster. The narrator lets us into their thoughts.🌹

5/5🌟 Full of emotion, secrets, and knowledge about making wine; which is a nice bonus if you love visiting vinyards. This reminded me of a good family drama movie where everyone gets together and there is laughing, crying, life lessons, secrets, and dysfunction set in cozy California wine country. I really enjoyed the sentimental value & nostalgia of childhood and family tradition.🍇🍷

✨️I loved this book! The fate of a summer spent working at a gothic medieval museum. Renaissance art history, Greek/Roman mythology, poisonous plants, & tarot cards. The New York setting of parks, punk bars, the Adirondacks, and mentions of Tarrytown. This hit a lot of interests for me and gave an ending I wasn't expecting at all! I love a good shock & awe for a conclusion.🌿

Could not put this down once it got going! I couldn't wait to see how the multiple points of view and inner thoughts from different characters and flashbacks between two different vacations intertwined together. I thought I had it figured out a couple times and was wrong. Great twisty plot.
■TW: Sexual abuse, child neglect, short mentions of self harm and suicide. #winter #mystery

If only books could win Oscars.. Just spent the last 60 pages trying to hold back tears, I was unsuccessful. Beautifully written. So much emotion and detail and several gasp worthy surprises. When I finished the book, my husband asked if I was okay and I said Yes with tears running down my face, what a read.💚

About halfway through and my old Hollywood heart is so happy. I love black and white movies and this is such a great take on what it was like to become an actress back then. So much emotion and glamour, both good and bad.

I rated this as a "pick" for the plot twist & dual timeline. One is a memory, one is present day. Every other chapter switches between them. The last few entries threw me for a loop, wasn't expecting the story to go that direction. I gasped out loud several times. I was fairly shocked & a little confused. I ended up flipping through past pages to look for any clues to try to figure it out. If it wasnt for the shock & awe i would say this is so-so.

My first Stephen King novel and I was not disappointed!! (Not that I thought I would be). A light who-dun-it with suspense, love, emotion, and a perfect Coney Island feeling amusement park set in the 70s. A little bit of scare but not nearly as much as I thought it would have considering the author. #stephenking #joyland #photography #amusementpark #ferriswheel #horrorhouse #funhouse

I loved these so much. Mad is the first, Bad is the second and Dangerous to know is the third. I haven't ordered the 3rd yet but I am hooked and cannot wait to see how this story ends! If you like the mafia, italy, a little bit of murder mystery and 50 shades of grey, you will love these! Definitely a femme fatale spirited novel. It would make a killer movie or series! #mad #bad #mafia #italy #twins #femmefatale

For eventually, We come to hold our dearest possessions more closely than we hold our friends. We carry them from place to place, often at considerable expense and inconvenience; we dust and polish their surfaces and reprimand children for playing too roughly in their vicinity-all the while, allowing memories to invest them with greater and greater importance.
