I am ashamed that it took me this long to get around to reading this novel. It was all I had hoped it would be, compelling, dark, uncomfortable and frustrating! I championed Offred but also wanted to shake her. Moira was a satisfying character! So pleased to hear that the sequel is now out- I had made my order!

Everything I Never Told You - It was difficult to stay invested in this novel although the characters were intriguing. It gave an insight into a families grief and how we all deal with our emotions in different ways. It explores the domino effect of negative events and how they impact relationships. An interesting time and setting also!

Again, like One Perfect Summer, I felt like this short follow up was missing something. It had lovely description of a wintery Cambridge but I wanted a bit more from Alice and Joe's relationship. I still have faith in Toon and will carry on reading her books!

I read this on holiday last year in less than 24 hours. I was hooked and grunted as I had to put it down to show my passport! An intense and powerful story about domestic abuse in all its forms. The characters are so real and the imagery so vivid. At times, it was disturbing but worth every uncomfortable line.

A different genre for me but I am so glad that I took the gamble. Incredibly gripping with fantastic imagery and character development. I thought I knew every character but throughout the novel, I found out different things about them through others accounts. I didn't know where the end was going to head but I was impressed with its destination. The film is powerful too!

I didn't love this book as much as Toon's other novels, however it was incredibly written with great emotion. A lot of the time, I wanted to shake the protagonist Alice. She could sense that things in her life were wrong but she didn't do anything about them. Toon describes heartbreak in its most realist form, the raw aftermath and the achey long term pain. I do plan to read the short Christmas story coming out this year!

This was one of the best books I had read in a long time and it came at such a good time for me. Bridget is such a likeable character, I want to be her best friend. She is ballsy, kind and clumsy. This book just shows you that life can take unexpected turns and love doesn't always happen once and only when you are young. After reading this on holiday, I came home realising that I should stop wishing my life away!

I really enjoyed this book! I read it nearly a year ago and it has stayed with me. It revealed a relationship between sisters, triplets in particular, that I had always been interested in. Imagining falling in love with the same person as your sister, it was heartfelt and incredibly written. Gaining insights into three narratives, a must!
