I think I found a new favorite book in V. E. Schwab‘s “Vicious.” It had a great pace, amazing world building, well rounded characters, and oh my goodness that writing style was fantastic! I highly recommend this book!
“We are all anthologies. We are each thousands of pages long, filled with fairy tales and poetry, mysteries and tragedy, forgotten stories in the back no one will ever read.”
The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead is HIGHLY addictive and enjoyable. Looking forward to diving into this classic!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The world building was good, I was attached to the characters, and my heart was pounding during the last third of the book. I‘m a 90‘s kid and don‘t play video games, but I still found this book easy to read and hard to put down. Thanks @FelixFelicis for the recommendation!
I was persuaded by @FelixFelicis to read this after seeing the movie, and omg it‘s so good! Good friends recommend good books, y‘all. That‘s a fact. Also, what better time to use the 80‘s filter on a photo, amiright?
I‘m finally tackling this book by way of audiobook and I‘m pleasantly surprised by it! I‘m listening to the audible edition narrated by Maggie Gyllenhaal and it‘s become my go-to for relaxation listening. I‘ll even read along with my physical copy if I‘m feeling ambitious. So far I‘m loving this giant tome and it is made less daunting thanks to audiobooks.
I DNF'd this book. I got to page 80 and I just couldn't do it anymore. This book was definitely written for a younger audience. No to mention it was slowly paced, kind of boring, and had average writing.
I probably could have gotten farther had there not been so much teen angst with the insta-love parts, but I'm at a point in my life where I just don't have time for that much angst in my readings anymore.
I'm not even 25% of the way through this book and I'm thisclose DNFing it. I love historical fiction and true crime, so I thought this would be the perfect book to get me in the autumnal mindset, but alas it's just not that good. The teen romance is so badly written and the only reason I've kept reading is because the mystery has sucked me in a tad and I want to find out if they ever discover who Jack is.
This is a great book if you're looking for a light, summery read. I gave it 3 stars out of 5. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad either, but it got the average rating mainly because I had high expectations and it didn't meet them fully. My favorite parts were pretty much anything to do with marine biology. If you're going looking for some great lady scientist moments in a book and good writing, then I definitely recommend it.
In terms of where I'm at as a reader and a human in my life, this was a good pallet cleanser while I'm in between fantasy novels. It's not for everyone but I enjoyed Anderson's writing style.
