Typical JD Robb book - well written with an intriguing storyline. I enjoyed that she brought back a few minor characters from previous books in the series - it makes LT Dallas' world seem that much more real.

This book is about child abuse, which is disclosed on the first page (so I'm not giving anything away). It is an important but sensitive topic which Ms Preston has handled with care and compassion but also with insight and frankness. While some parts were a bit slow, on the whole the characters propelled me forward to keep reading to the point that I didn't want to put it down.
