Current reading, and absolutely loving it!
What is everyone reading right now?
I am not a fast reader, but this book took me just over a day to read. I was instantly sucked into the story, the character are compelling without being over the top, the tension is real, and in one scene *little spoiler but not major* I could physically hear a bone breaking and it shattered me. Such a good book, and the 2nd from McLemore that I devoured.
This. Book. Broke. Me. Ugh it is so good. Seriously. If you like fairytales, loves stories that make sense, rivalry, secrets and sad/happy endings, GET. THIS. BOOK. queer representation, female representation, sisterhood representation, friendship representation. So very good.
So excited to read this. I've been in a book slump and I'm hoping this brings me out of it.
I finally finishes this book a few days ago, and loved it. I have the 2nd installment on the way to my house as week speak. I've seen both good and bad reviews for this book, and will say that it can be very slow to start, but the ending is well worth the wait if you stick with it. Personally, I loved the pacing and the imagery.
SPOILER-ish. I loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down. However, there is very vivid, very descriptive talk of self harm and harm in general. I figured out, at least for me, that this book is one giant, messy, scary, beautiful, horrifying and uplifting metaphor for mental illness. If you are sensitive to this, buyer beware. The last 30 pages had me in floods of tears, and I don't cry while reading. And the ending is satisfyingly vague.
Just started this yesterday and already in love. I adored Leslye's previous book (the strange and beautiful sorrows of ava lavender) and could bot wait to pick this one up. Small trigger warning for talk of self harm in the 1st chapter, but it's minimal. If you're sensitive to that type of talk, just wanted to make you aware. I'm loving it so far.
So this is actually for Saga 1 through 4 (I'm waiting for 5 through 8 to be delivered). I. Freaking. Love
It!!!! If you like compelling stories, freaky characters, villains that end up being good, hero's that end up being bad, weird sexy images and foul language, this is absolutely a series you want to pick up. I am in love and can't wait to read the 2nd half of the series.
Volumes 2, 3 and 4. My gift to myself for when I'm done with my finals. Loved volume 1, so I can't wait to get to these.
Love it so far! Anyone else read this? It's my first forray into eastern European inspired books, and I doubt it'll be my last!
"Death comes for everyone," she said simply. "I'm not afraid of dying. But I am afraid of dying here." She swept her hand over the room, the tavern, the city. "I'd rather die on an adventure than live standing still."
