I enjoyed this book a lot. It‘s about three missing kids and how their stories connect. It can be a little disturbing and heartbreaking, but it‘s a good read. And easy so it‘s quick!

Want some underdog, come-from-behind victories? Check. Want some insider views of Hitler‘s 1936 Olympics? Check. Want some history of rowing, the making of Seattle, and the University of Washington? Check. A great read and it makes me hometown proud!
I enjoyed the second in the Earth Children Series. She is an excellent writer with lots of detail and a great imagination. It's been refreshing to read about a culture so different from our modern one.
"And maybe, that's the scary part. How you don't stop being a kid all at once, with a big explosion....The kid in you just leaked out, like the air out of a tire. And one day you looked in the mirror and there was a grownup looking back at you."
Read this older gem and then promptly bought the series off eBay. Fascinating read and you'll find yourself asking some deep questions about humankind.
Sorry Travolta fans..... I detest movie covers on books. Charlie won't even look at it. 😂😲 #uglycover #septphotochallenge #notsayingthebookisbad
How could I not add this well-worn book today? ? I tried to get my daughter to read it last year when she was in fifth grade and she said "old books are so boring"! Hahaha! I can't wait to remind her of that in years to come when she gushes after reading something like The Count of Monte Cristo! #numberintitle
An old childhood favorite (my love of mysteries began long ago) and a classic that's been on my TBR list for some time. #septphotochallenge #numberintitle
I am FINALLY done with this epic read. It's pretty much the only thing I read in August (do magazines count? Haha!). I am giving it a So-So only because it was a bit tough to get through. If you like to read classics this should be on your list though, but it takes some determination to get past the first 100 pages or so. However, the writing is excellent. The characters are worth meeting and might remind you of someone you know today. Good luck!

I have been remarkably slow at reading this! Which isn't to say I don't like it. I've just finished other books ahead of it. After this and Middlemarch I think I'll take a little break from the classics. 😆 #currentlyreading
"I suppose we never quite understand why another dislikes what we like..." said Mary, rather curtly. Update: I am about half-way through this book. I knew it would take several weeks and it has. But I also thought I would like it and I do. Lots of good quotes throughout the book. And to be honest, I can't understand why people don't like the classics! Lol!
I just love this book for some reason. I typically don't read books more than once, there are just too many new ones to discover, but I just read this one again (I chose it for book club) and was captivated all over again. A mixture of who-done-it, romance, rigid societal rules and intriguing nature vs nurture debate.
Spent some quality time with this review this morning and found so many books I want to read! I like a good suspense novel. Siracusa, The Woman in Cabin 10, Truly Madly Guilty, to name a few others that were reviewed. Plenty to choose from! I'm giddy.
#recommendsday Toxic relationships and dark secrets. The end presents a shocking moral dilemma. What would you do if you were Karen?
#recommendsday This book was originally published in the UK as The Hurting Distance, but you can find it under both titles on Amazon. Unbelievably creepy and out-there premise. You won't be able to connect the dots until the end. I have read everything by Sophie Hannah. One of my favorite authors.
Gonna try and conquer this over the next few weeks. It's my book club's summer read. Normally I love classics so I hope I like it!
Just finished this outstanding book last night, but don't think you can speed through it. At some 750 pages you'll spend more than one long evening with this one. It's dark and I didn't want it to end, but it was so hard to put down! My favorite genre and it didn't disappoint.
