Wow I haven‘t posted in like a month 😬 April was really a pathetic reading month for me. Most of my books were audio. I started a couple audios and then quit them (Red Queen and Before We Were Yours). I think it‘s just my mood. My favorite books from April were P.S. I Still Love You and Worth Fighting For (sequel to Fighting to be Free). I hate reading slumps 😩

I liked it enough to want to read the next. It‘s a dystopian romance, similar to Delirium. I figured out from reading other reviews that the “fffttt” sound effect was supposed to be Juliet scratching out writing in a notebook, but that is completely lost to me as an audiobook. Book has A LOT of metaphors.

Also, I thought the main love interest, Adam, was kind of... boring?? I found myself more interested in Warner. Am I supposed to hate him??

I‘m super loving this series. It‘s just too adorable. Excited to read the last book and see the next movie on Netflix ❤️😍 #ya #romance #romantsy #booktoscreen

Has anyone else listened to this on audio?? I‘ll be honest that the story is slightly confusing, but I think it‘s getting better. But what on earth is the weird “fffffttt” sound effect throughout the book?? Does this ever get explained?? What‘s it look like in text form? 🤔😳🤷🏻‍♀️

Being super redneck right now 😂 sitting in a camping chair on my front walkway so the dog and I can enjoy the nice weather today while it lasts. Where we live is horrible for mosquitoes, so once summer is here I stay inside a lot 😬

Waiting for my mom at the doctor‘s office sooo obviously my Kindle came with me. I ❤️ my kindle, but I really want that Kindle Oasis. I have the Paperwhite, but it‘s probably getting a little outdated and it‘s suuuuper slow. Anyone have the Oasis? What are your thoughts? #kindle #ereader #romance #romantsy

swishandflick My co-worker has the Oasis and she loves it! But I have a hard time understanding why it costs so much more than the new Paperwhite. So that's what I have and love it too 😄 6y
Cgetscheeky @swishandflick yes, it‘s so expensive!! I don‘t understand 🤔 6y

Thank G for audiobooks! Before I stared listening to audiobooks, I would maybe read 2-3 books/month if I wasn‘t in a slump. Now I listen to books all the time on my way to/from work which has allowed me to get so much more reading in! I just finished Delirium today and I really liked it, but it seems to have mixed reviews. I just started the second book in the series and hopefully it‘s as good as the first. The narrator for it was awesome!

Holy. Hell. I freaking loved this book. There is a cliffhanger, but there is a sequel which I one-clicked IMMEDIATELY. I couldn‘t even handle the ending. Gah! Bad boy, good drama, heroine isn‘t cringey. Some parts made me tear up a little. Jamie‘s past is so heartbreaking. Can‘t wait to read the end to Jamie and Ellie‘s story!

Last post tonight, for realz, because I‘m spending the rest of my evening reading more of this. I picked it up from the 2 for $8 selection at Barnes & Noble. I‘d never heard of it or the author before, but the cover caught my eye and the blurb on the back sounded interesting. I‘m about 100 pages in and loving it so far! Gotta love a bad boy romance 😉 #romance #romantsy #blindread

I was definitely not always a reader. I hated reading all the way through high school and a grand majority of college. Series that really got me into reading were Harry Potter, the Twilight Saga, and Fifty Shades of Grey. I never read romance until Twilight and I was pretty hooked after that! I read other genres too, but I‘m a huge sucker for romance ❤️

Yes yes yes! I‘ve loved McGuire‘s “Beautiful” series, and this book I will rank right up there with them. This isn‘t technically part of that series, but it does have a sprinkle of some Maddox bros in there. Trex doesn‘t quite make it to Travis Maddox level of book boyfriends imo, but he‘s pretty good. I listened to this on audio and it has both M and F narrators and the male narrator was actually not cringey 👌🏽 #romance #romantsy

I‘m not even 100% sure how to rate this. It started out so good. I went in pretty blind and didn‘t know there was a supernatural element to it (death tripping). Basically some characters in the book can die, but come back, which results in a “surge” which is kind of like a high from dying, and it is addicting. I don‘t want to spoil plots, but um, the “cure” to ease the surge is f*cking watermelon? 🙄 also some unanswered questions at the end.

This book was overall ok. After getting over the fact that the library these kids were stuck in apparently had no landline phones to call for help, I thought the rest of the story was fairly cute. I kind of wish there was more interaction between the two main characters and more of a build up to their relationship, but meh, oh well. #ya #romance #romantsy

Currently listening to this audiobook. Never heard of it before, but sounded interesting. It‘s about a high school aged girl who gets locked in the library over the weekend with fellow mysterious classmate, Dax.

So far it‘s pretty good. My only issue so far is that neither of them had a cell phone to be able to call someone, but WHY DID THIS LIBRARY NOT HAVE ANY LANDLINE PHONES??? 🤔🤔🤔 #ya #romance #romantsy #Audiobook

Been seeing a lot of people reading this Stalking Jack the Ripper book, so I wanted to see what the hype was about. Deciding if I will read Before We Were Yours because I also have it on hold on audiobook. Top 2 books I got on sale at B&N- 2 for $8! Kinda scared to read Room because it sounds uber depressing 😬 and I‘ve never heard of Fighting to Be Free but I‘m pretty sure it‘s a romance and I‘m all about that 😘 And of course doggo bookmarks 🔖

I almost can‘t deal with this book, especially as an audiobook. Main dude is supposed to be like early 30s, but the narrator for his POV parts sounds about 50 years old 😂 I keep laughing every time his parts come on.

Meh. Not really my kind of book. I know the point of the book was not really to know how or why people know in advanced that they will die. It‘s more about the two main characters and how their fates have brought them together and the friendship they build on their last day, but I‘m a much more literal reader and want answers. I think I‘m not deep enough for these kinds of books 😂

Ingerella I just finished this book and felt the same way. 6y

I‘ve seen this book recommended to me before, but I‘d always been wary of it because of the title. The title just sounded way too cheesy, even though it had lots of good reviews. Finally decided to give it a try on audiobook and man, so far I‘m loving it! It is also the first time I‘m listening to a “steamy” book on audio, which I always thought would be weird, but the narrator does a great job! #romance #romantsy

Enjoyed the story quite a bit, but as far as the audiobook goes, the narrator‘s voice annoyed me (sounded a bit robotic and her attempts at doing a male character voice was laughable). Wish I‘d just read the actual book. Haven‘t watched the movie yet, but I definitely want to now. #ya #romance #romantsy #audiobook

I stared this audiobook yesterday. So far I like the story, but the narrators‘s voice makes me cringe a little, particularly when she tries to do the guy‘s dialogue. They have a male doing his dialogue for email parts so I don‘t understand why they couldn‘t get him to do his main dialogue too??? #ya #romance #romantsy #audiobook

I was a little torn between rating this a pick and so-so. While I was really into the book and wanted to keep reading, some things I felt were slightly on the unbelievable side. I would classify Joe as a cross between Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother in his desperation for love, and a way delusional Dexter, only you root for Dexter because he kills truly monstrous people, whereas Joe kills people for the most ridiculous reasons. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Over the summer I stared a bullet journal because I was bored and wasn‘t working. I pretty much stopped, but decided to pick it up again, mainly because I wanted to practice my hand lettering (and this time with way less time consuming spreads) I‘ve always been a little obsessed with planners and writing things down even if I pretty much never look at it again after that 😂

Pretty different from CoHo‘s usual books, but omg this did not disappoint me in the slightest. If you like the “wtf” of Tarryn Fisher, then you‘ll probably enjoy this too. And this book actually scared me a little and I have never gotten the scared feeling from a book before. Not scary in a horror kind of way, but just an uneasy, creep feeling. The ending.... Jesus, the ending.

I pretty much love any book by Colleen Hoover, but this one was the first to elicit such an emotional response from me. Not because the content necessarily resonated with me personally or anything, but Colleen‘s story telling makes you really empathize with the characters. Such a good book, 10/10 would recommend.

Conversation for this book:
"Hmm, we have this crazy plot twist, but how are we going to resolve it?"
"I know, let's NOT resolve it and leave a major cliffhanger!"
"Are we gonna write a sequel?"
"Nah."
They sure got the "nothing" part of the title right. And I typically like Jamie McGuire.

Since only part 1 is listed, I will review all three as one book. It started out strong, but the ending was so blah. Sad to say since I love CoHo and Fisher, but I expected something more profound for an ending.
