I blew through this book so quickly that I went back to re-read a few sections, then read them aloud to my husband, then again over the phone to a friend. This book makes me feel happy and like I am in good company when I was reading. This one is going on my gifting list.

I enjoyed the writing and will have a few images that will stick with me, however the storyline does not. I found it to be distracting and hard to tie together.

Mehso-so

This was a deeply sad look at life in A Mumbai slum that left me with a feeling of hopelessness. The violence and cruelty within a community reflects a primal survival that I wasn‘t fully prepared for. I‘m glad to have read it, and am also glad to put it down.

Fantastic novel with great writing and a powerful female lead. Loved it.

The Resurrection of Joan Ashby is one of the best books I have read - this goes on my VERY small pile to read again, in a few years, when I may be able to connect in new ways. The writing is beautiful, and the layered story lines had me sad to finish. This was a comfortable, complex book and I loved it.

I found this #ChristopherPike gem in Wisconsin over the weekend, and I was flooded with memories of reading in the hallway light after bedtime so my parents wouldn‘t see my bedroom light on... I read every one of his books until graduating to Stephen King. #youngadultmemories

I‘m anxious to start this one - it‘s been on my list for a LONG time. Even though I am loving #TheResurrectionOfJoanAshby, I can‘t help but read the first chapter... you know... kind of like an appetizer... right? #upnext #justafewpages #somanybookssolittletime

Cracking open a new book is always mixed emotions - excited, hopeful it will be good, wondering if a character will make a long-term impression, hoping I feel the book deep in my gut. Here I go!

The Word Is Murder | Anthony Horowitz

Pickpick

I‘m currently listening to this on audio and love it. The story is engaging and peppered with great characters. Horowitz writes it as himself, but in a hilarious and self-deprecating manner, which makes him endearing and has me checking Wikipedia and articles frequently. I can‘t get enough time alone to finish it! #thewordismurder #audiobook #greatnarrator #firstpost
