This book was amazingly moving, and to think it is based on an actual group of people.... the ending had me moved beyond words.

We are often more tender to the dead than to the living, though it is the living who need our tenderness most
Scary, the effect of lack of sleep on our bodies. The post-industrial world is not good for sleep!
Not really the point, but I've read a bit of Greek mythology and never come across Procrustes before. He sounds like a....character. #mythology
Anyone struggling with #Bookly for android? its so buggy, crashes when you try to save anything, no syncing between devices. Actually puts me off reading hut if i don't try things out they won't have the info to fix these issues. :(
This was quite a different approach to meditation than i have read before. I wished he would have defined meditation because sometimes it sounded like sitting daydreaming. But it gave me some new ways of thinking about my practice

Loved this short story, a peculiar link between female scientists and the wizard of Oz. Will deffo check out the novels
I'm going with a short story double bill this morning. Greek myths are great for occasional dipping into, and are often bonkers!
I'm liking the sound of Athene from this description
P.303
"The visor of her helmet functioned as a mask. It made her anonymous, and that freed her of her conscience "
The first story, Dead centre by Jean Merrill, is pretty startling. Its about an early moon rocket designer, her husband (an astronaut) and their son. Feel a bit stunned. Don't want to spoil it.
Not in Greece but still enjoying the myths...
Sara Maitland's modernised version of the end of Wordsworth's daffodils poem! 🤣
Really enjoying this, I think of it as a companion piece to A book of silence as she addresses some of the criticism of that book (why she didn't distinguish between silence and solitude)
Full of wisdom, that Marcus Aurelius
Loving this so far. The conceit (that it features the author as a sort of crime-solving sidekick) could be gimmicky but I'm listening to it read by Rory Kinnear and it's wonderful. I like the detail of Horowitz's career and the shifty freelance detective he hooks up with. And I would listen to anything read by Kinnear

I've been trying to read this while on holiday in the Lake District, as the place we're staying is so peaceful it seems to fit. But family life is taking priority. Looking forward to finishing it. Makes me tempted to find a reading /meditation retreat!
"For a minimalist, the objective isn't to reduce, it's to eliminate the distractions so they can focus on the things that are truly important"
Lovely sunny afternoon where I am, so first garden reading session of the year 👍❤
I'm finding this book so interesting and moving and a lot of the cases really struck a chord with me.
I particularly like the word captious :Apt to notice and make much of trivial faults. Fault-finding. Difficult to please
Yay, @penguinrandomhouse UK sent me one of these! Looks great. 👍
Reading this on train to and from London for work thing. Got a free glasses wipe from a supplier 😂🐱
#kobo book haul 2
I don't think I've ever read a book with this much swearing and bodily fluids of every imaginable kind in it 😝
Well this came in on hold from the library so I have broken my resolution to try to stick to one book at a time (I don't count ones I am reading with my son).
One word for this so far: grim. And visceral. Two. Two words for this so far. #litsyreadingchallenge2017 #takesplaceover150yearsago
Aha! Now I have discovered #litsyreadingchallenge2017 I see this counts as #multipleperspectives .
