While I sympathized with Marin's experience with tragedy, I felt so annoyed that nothing really impactful has happened in the story. I felt like i didn't know much about her, other than her love for Mabel and grief for her grandfather. The huge takeaway from this book is, that everyone handles loss in his/her way. This book is great for those who feel alone in their grieving process.
This book was just meh! The only thing that was great about it was the accurate deaf representation! (I am deaf, in case you did not know!) The author did her homework! I could not connect to Gardner's writing style. I also felt like the story didn't present anything concrete for me to bite on. Nothing really happened! I would not recommend this book at all! However, you can use this as a reference to learn more about the deaf culture.
My favorite quote by Shakespeare! It's from one of his plays, Midsummer Night's Dream! #shakespearequotes #bookworm
I went slightly overboard at the library today! #sorrynotsorry #booknerd
I will write and post a review tomorrow. Hope y'all are having a great bookish day!
I have read a few chapters of this book as Epic Reads First5 subscriber! It's already full of fun and laughs! Looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of this humorous book!
My current read! Such an quick read. Less than 15 hours, and I'm already more than halfway through! Rooting for Eliza and Wallace!
