Still chugging through this guy. It‘s interesting enough. So far I don‘t like the alternate characters because I don‘t feel like he spends enough time on the German boy, Werner, and switches back to Marie-Laure very quickly. I‘m also not the biggest fan of the timeline? I don‘t know, it all seems very rushed for just the beginning? Maybe it‘ll get better 😬
Reading this at Core Life Eatery for my book club this Saturday. Last time I read this I couldn‘t get into it, but maybe this time will be different?
Edited with “no green” 😂
Currently reading because I‘ve never read this or any other Crichton novel, I am ashamed to say. But, at least this way I can do a book to movie comparison 😍😁 I love it so far. Super quick read and not too weighed down with complicated science. I can‘t wait until the dinosaurs start doing what Dr. Malcolm predicts 😊
I really liked this book. It was a quick read and really easy to get into. Hastings tells the story in the fashion of nonlinear stories from his Great Depression childhood. It strongly portrays the values and hardships of the time, as well as puts things in perspective for today‘s readers in society. I love comparing today‘s societal struggles to that of the Depression Era. Definitely would recommend :)
I love Jim Butcher‘s world, writing, characters, pace...everything. He is a fantastic author and Harry Dresden is a wonderfully lovable character. The book is fast paced and gripping and won‘t allow you to put the book down until you‘ve finished the last page. If you haven‘t checked out the Dresden Files, you need to.
I love love LOVE this series! It‘s so spooky and thrilling and fun. Adds history without throwing it in your face so you learn while you read a fun story. Very well written and a great third installment to the series! Hopefully he writes more :)
I‘m glad I gave this book the chance it deserved. It turned out to be a wonderful book. Beautifully written and very well planned. The main character, Leigh, starts off whiny and someone not easy to relate to. However, at the end of the book, she has some major growth to her and her relationships. I like this book a lot more than I thought I would and would recommend it to Piccoult lovers and lovers of family dramas.
Omg this book was SO amazing! I loved mostly everything about it. It was so well written and a ton of content without being too overwhelming. I‘d recommend it to anyone :)
#currentlyreading for a book club. The first couple hundred pages were frustrating, but I‘m happy to see some growth in the characters.
Currently reading and currently reading under. My Cuddledud is my favorite present 😍 first book club book of the year! And it‘s starting out pretty interestingly.
I liked it, but the writing was pretty basic and you could tell a bit of her writing was just for filler. I wish the ending happened a little differently, but it‘s ok. I would recommend it to dog lovers :)
I love that the chapters have a little pug head above them 😍 #puglove #readingcompanion
A little late on holiday reads. But finishing this one from December. My cat isn‘t thrilled about the betrayal 😂 #holidayreads #pupcakes #catsandbooks #pugbooks
I had some reservations about it, but not many. Overall, a lovely sequel to The Evil Librarian. I love her characters and her writing style. Very gripping and hard to put down :)
Reading the second since I rented them both from the library. No regrets so far :)
If you like musical theater and fantasy/adventure/comedy/romance, then this is the book for you! It was hilarious and captivating from start to finish! Minor note, I hated that there wasn‘t much physical description of the characters and you didn‘t get a grand sense of who the characters were as people. You‘d get snippets, but not the whole story which bothered me especially if it came up later. But I still love this book and highly recommend it!
It‘s a “it‘s just one more chapter” kind of a day. I‘m almost done with this delight page turner and it‘s better than sleep :)
Just started. So far it‘s fun and quirky. Reminds me of Meg Cabot characters. Can‘t wait to read more :)
This book was awesome! So glad I got to finish it on a gnarly rainy day such as this! Best way to spend my Saturday :)

Happy Halloween friends! Stay safe and find a spooky book!!! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 #imaslowreader
Oh my god this book is wonderfully addicting!!! Luckily I have Barnaby to present it to you guys :)
I‘m surprised that this book falls under horror. I would put it more as a “how to deal with death, dying, and grief” category as it deals with all the five stages of grief. It‘s very good though. I‘m in love with the yew tree :)
Currently reading. Don‘t really read YA, as I‘ve mentioned, but they‘re so quick if you‘re trying to catch up on spooky reads in two weeks. This book is a little rudimentary so far, but it is quick to read and fast paced. Hope it‘s as good as everyone says :)

So, I gave this book a very huge curve because I don‘t really like mystery, but I still hated it. The main character was a prick and was pretty much useless. And the original case was still cold at the end. Very disappointing and very disorganized. I wouldn‘t recommend this book to anyone.
Went to the library yesterday and got some spooky YA reads to finish out October. I don't really like YA, so hopefully these turn my opinions :) and there's Hoot for my book club book :)
So this book was pretty great. It was my first ever read by Stephen King and I must say that I enjoyed it very much. It was quick paced and wasn't hard to follow. All the characters were memorable and likable. The narrator captivates you right in and holds you throughout the entire story, even if you don't like/don't know much about prison. I'd rate this a 5/5 and love to read it again and would suggest it to anyone looking to read a short story.
reading companion :)
For my second book club, the books chosen are by theme - which makes it so much more lax and less stressful. October's theme is books that were turned into movies. Because the meeting is on Tuesday and I'm running short on time, I chose to look into short stories that were adapted into movies. This anthology by Stephen King includes two book to movie adaptations: Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me. I can't wait to compare them!!!
I'm not the biggest fan of mystery and this book is pretty slow. So it has been quite the task of trying to get into this book. However, I'm determined to finish it despite all that. I just can't wait until the book starts to pick up and we can figure out more to guess on the killer!!!
It was a decent book, but I think a lot of the memoir didn't need to be in there. Ron Hall made it less personable and relatable. I LOVED reading about Denver Moore; his life was so interesting and he overcame so much in his life.
I absolutely love everything about Vonnegut and his writing style. I absorbed this day in two days. It was a quick read and very insightful.
