Oh gosh. This was bad.

Everyone, put it down and back away slowly.

This book made me gag. First there was insta lust where the characters just wanted to bang all day. Then there were the gender stereotypes. Then a comment about rape which was NOT FUCKING OKAY. But I was really done after the creepy as fuck sex scenes and the pretentious writing. (The author used big words to make herself sound smart)

Fuck no.

Don't even consider this one.

The Front | Patricia Cornwell

Meh. Maybe 2.5 stars. Apparently I started with the wrong Patricia Cornwell, because this book sucked. Like it was really bad. Not only was it cliche and cheesy (OBVIOUS AF) but the characters were all egotistical douches. I couldn't connect with any of them. The writing was SO contrived and don't even let me get started on that plot.

Which one you ask?

Yeah.

Because there are like 5 and none come together well at the end of the book.

Here are a couple of my currently reading books! The Front is meh so far, and the other one is just...No. Definitely not. 😨😨😨

I should have expected that, considering all of the books I'm reading right now have a 3.5 or less rating, but you all know I'm willing to try anything and give it a chance. 😊😊😊

These are also part of my challenge to read all of my shorter books. Still a lot to go, but at least I'm sticking with it.

Pickpick

He is the tin soldier; she, the match girl. Together, they discover the sparks that change the world. In themselves. In each other. As they both discover the world isn't what they thought it is. For one, its lies and chains and a light in the dark. For the other, its discovery and learning and a savor on the ice.

This book was amazing. It was so unique and I could see the authors inspirations in the story .

🌙⭐You guys all know I like Sarah J Maas books. And this was was no different. I love the worlds Sarah creates, and I love her writing style. I also like the unique characters.⭐🌙

🌙⭐However, I do have some issues that I can't reconcile with this one. Especially about the lack of consent. And about Feyre's choices⭐🌙

I know its a little late, but Happy Birthday Harry Potter!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

🌙⭐This series has been a huge part of my life and the lives of my friends, and we are so grateful that we had something to get us all through the hard times, to help us have a space space to hide and rest. Even for just a bit.⭐🌙

Monday Or Tuesday | Virginia Woolf

Mehso-so

I give this one 3.75 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Let me first say that this collection won't be for everyone. Virginia Woolf does not write in a conventional character or plot driven style. Her stories are not about epic battles or amazing people. She writes emotion and thoughts and about the banality of everyday life. Her style is stream of consciousness as well, and is very random and experimental.

Pickpick

🌙 In an effort to read my shorter books, I started this one.... And I remembered why I fell in love with Poe.

🌙I enjoyed all of the stories. They were all well thought out and were well constructed. And even for such short stories, I was still able to get attached to the characters and become invested in the plot. In my opinion, Edgar is certainly the king of mind f***s and plot twists! 😉

Hey everyone! This my July TBR this month. Its a ton, I know, but it's my fault for getting behind in reviews. A lot of these I've also started but haven't finished yet, so that makes less for me. I like writing my TBR down and crossing the stories off when I finish them. It makes me feel better. 😊😊😊

FlowerFairy Happy to see someone else does this as well. So satisfying to cross off a completed book! 7y
