A fun read and a fascinating look at how computer science and the gaming industry have evolved over the last four decades. Engaging from start to finish; highly recommend.

Ignoring the fact I read the series in the wrong order due to not being able go get a copy of the first book until last, this was a great novel. It portrays the first RE game so well and I loved the puzzles and action, though I do wish the fight scenes were more detailed. I loved Jill as usual, she's so brave and badass. 4/5 🌟

An original novel in the Resident Evil universe. Like the others this one was action packed and full of Umbrella's monsterous creations. This is actually book 2 in the series so it's set before RE2 or the novelisation City of the Dead. The characters were fun and well fleshed out, I especially liked Rebecca, she's young but smart and optimistic. As usual the epilogue ends with the mysterious Trent, so I'd reccomend reading the series in order...

Another good addition to the Resident Evil book series, this one follows RE3 with kickass Jill Valentine and humorous Carlos Oliveira suriving Raccoon City. It was a fun action filled novelisation of the game with some differences. I'd say the pacing of this one felt slower compared to the other books. I liked Nemesis and the mulitiple fights against it, and the other monsters too. This book was definitely brutal. The ending was good too!

'Underworld' was a fun addition to the Resident Evil book series, it follows after the events of the previous book (or RE2). This story is a completely new addition to the RE story, but it was fun and had all the same elements as before; action packed fights, messed up monsters and some funny one liners. The character interactions were fun and enjoyable to see, and made the characters more human with their feelings. Fast paced and good ending!

This was a great novelisation of the Resident Evil 2 game, the plot was very similar and I liked the writing style, it's simple yet effective with enough description to know what's going on, but may be confusing to those who don't know the game well. The characters and their interactions felt the same, apart from Ada and her soft POV and her guilt. Though I liked this secret side of her, it didn't quite feel right. Overall a fast paced read!

“I build most major revisions from scratch, anyway. The coding is the easy part; it‘s like drawing a picture of something after you‘ve excavated it. The sweat is in the digging, not the documentation.“

Exactly.

TimSpalding Someone I know on Twitter wrote “ok, the artist on that cover did flawless work“ and I so agree. What's funny, though, is that that's only the Audiobook cover. Maybe there was some paper edition like it I can't find, but the main edition has this uninspiring cover! Cover design can make a big difference. 2y

A pretty fun 1st volume! Two siblings who have always loved Final Fantasy games work their way onto the Square Enix team, only to find themselves in a fantasy world following an accident. The world building is fun, the art is beautiful, and the characters are interesting enough. A little problematic when a character dealing with grief is advised to smile because the dead party member would have wanted it. #manga #fantasy #FinalFantady #Adaptation
