Buzz Books 2023: Spring/Summer | Publishers Lunch

As Lee Corso would say: Not so fast! I‘m not quite done with 2023 after all.

I went to the trouble to determine my #top23of2023 so the least I can do is post the list.

Since I also took the time to calculate some author stats, here they are:
-68 individual authors
-46 new to me
-49 women authors
-21 authors of color

In addition I read six books by LGBTQIA authors and/or with POV LGBTQIA characters.

Texreader It looks like we have similar book tastes. Many of the authors I like. But I‘ve only read The Haunting of Maddy Claire. This looks like an awesome list. A great reading year! I still plan to figure out my 2023 favorites so I‘m glad to see your post that I‘m not quite too late 14mo

Leave it to me to start off the year with a migraine! 🙄

So, I‘m now getting to all of the posts and readings I slated to do today! I finally compiled my #Top23Of2023 list, albeit with a wonky graphic. I amazingly read 151 books last year (not counting the picture books and early reader books for #BBRC ), and I had a hard time narrowing down my top 23.

Thanks to Barbara for carrying on @Cinfhen ‘s tradition!

Bluebird Great list of favorites! I read 4 of them this year, and they were all in my top 20 of the year: Black Cake, Lost City of the Monkey God, Tom Lake, and the Masterpiece. Several others are in my TBR list—will need to bump them toward the top. 😀 14mo

*Finally* got round to posting my #top23of2023!

In no particular order, these are most of my 5 star reads of the year. There were another 10 or so that didn‘t quite make the list - very difficult to choose.
