I absolutely adore this book for our little ones. Beautiful writing and lovely illustrations make this a wonderful picture book. You learn a little bit about Inuit culture and the Arctic while learning to respect the land and animals. I would 100% recommend this book over and over again.

We have rotated this book into the list of books we read (and believe me it was a tough sell since it isn't about dinosaurs) in an attempt to have our 3.5 year old understand that it is much more fun to play in a clean room. We haven't gotten very far with the cleaning up of messes 😂.

Our little guy does not like us reading books to him but he'll invent his own stories as he flips through the pages. However, with a new addition in the house we attempt to read this book each night. Even if he is playing we will still read the book to him.

We love to read this tale of friendship to our little guy - it is perfect for a young toddler. We particularly enjoy it because it has lots of animals and that is about the only way he will look through a book.

Malcolm's Runaway Soap by Jo Ellen Bogart and Linda Hendry was a favourite of mine as a toddler (so my parents say). Apparently it is now out of print (although you can still find it online) so I'm very happy they held onto this book so I can now read it to our little guy. The slippery soap escapes from the tub and takes Malcolm on an adventure through the town.
