The Stand | Stephen King

It's super appropriate to choose this title for the prompt because I'm currently rereading it with litsy peeps! 😃💕📚 This is the book that made me a King fan. Prior to this book, I did not really like his work. But the excellent worldbuilding, storytelling, and characterization of this tome stole my heart and converted me into a fan for life!

#ThoughtYouWouldntLikeButDid - Going into the Wheel of Time series, almost anyone who read it agrees on something... things really slow down in the middle books. Since Book 7 is where the “slog” is supposed to begin, I expected to be bored. But with some events from earlier books moving forward, the introduction of a badass character (that would be Cadsuane) and Rand FINALLY doing more than just moping, I really enjoyed this one!

Christmas 1994 ish and I grudgingly started The Colour of Magic because my then boyfriend would not shut up about Discworld... The rest is history (so is that boyfriend thank goodness 😏🙄😁)

Lanny: A Novel | Max Porter

Having not enjoyed Grief is a Thing With Feathers, and then opening Lanny and being confronted with the above, I put this back down as one I wouldn‘t enjoy. But a couple of people whose opinions I trust said it was good. So I gave it a go.

Best book I‘ve read this year.
