Since I read 4 books of her this year, I wanted to make an extra post to celebrate R F Kuang. The Poppy War trilogy moved me greatly and I‘m still thinking a lot about it. Babel was a perfect mix of fantasy & history, with great discussions about linguistics, colonialism and the need for a rebellion.

pickI liked #ThePoppyWar a lot more on my reread. The story seemed to make more sense, and I think I understand Rin a bit better now. I hope I will get to read the sequel soon, before I forget everything again!

As a reader, 2021 was not a good year for me - I only read 14 books! It's sad because I used to read over 100 books a year.

pickColor me surprised. I definitely thought this would be a solid 5 🌟 read, but it isn't. I need to gather my thoughts to give a complete review, but for now it's a 4 🌟 book for me. It was great but not something that I'll be inclined to pick up again & reread. I definitely want to read the next book though.
