I was there full on!! While the 70s were childishly cute for me, the 80s were in my bones, as painful as it gets music-, fashion- & especially hair-wise!!! This is going to be so much fun 🎀 6y

RealLifeReading I just found this Japanese horror novel - written in the 80s but only translated into English in 2017. Nothing scares me more than Japanese horror!

batsy @RealLifeReading I have that on my TBR and didn't realise it was written in the 80s! Nice. True, I expect Japanese horror to be terrifying (which is why I've been putting it off 😅) 6y

peaKnit I was looking around and remember Different Seasons by Stephen King, my own 80‘s obsession😂 it has four novellas, 3 whichbecame movies, we all know Shawshank Redemption and Stand by Me, then Apt Pupil was also a movie. Leaving Breathing Method, but it‘s only 60+ pages, maybe The Body (Stand by Me) and Breathing Method? I loved that whole book, wore the pages out in 7th grade! That said, Night Things also sounds interesting. Excited! (edited) 6y

DebinHawaii Late to the party as usual. I saw this last night but sleep beckoned harder. 😉I'm in, but struggling with a book recommendation that's under 350 pages & from the 80s, readily available now, that isn't a total gore-fest. There's this one which is first in a series and I haven't read although it gets good reviews on Amazon. And it put I Wear My Sunglasses at Night in my head. 😎👂🏻🐛 Oh-it was first published in 1989 too so right on the cusp.
