LibrarianRyan I totally get it. I would have picked it up just because how popular it is. But I didn't get book 2 read. I did a ticktok on how much this book pissed me off. 3y

2 ⭐I really wanted to like this book. And basically I did like the story line. However this is a graphic novel and the illustrations play a very large part of this story. The amount of gratuitous nudity, and the misogyny was disgusting. Most of the nudity was not needed. The one character grabbing the female characters breasts and complaining that they are not equal size (on two different sisters, not on one body) was horrid and uncalled for.

magyklyXdelish Aw I‘m sorry you hated it. My friend and I were big fans of the anime show. Not sure if there‘s a lot of differences or not. I also haven‘t watched it in eons so maybe a rewatch would change my opinion. 3y

LibrarianRyan @magyklyXdelish Maybe i should try the animae. Book 1 is mostly prologue giving you a look at each of the characters. And uh no. When it got into the 20 pages of actual story it didn't seem bad, but I will reserve judgement until after book 2. 3y

Kenyazero It's one of the reasons I (mostly) stopped reading shonen manga when I was a teenager. It's a bummer that's happening in this one too. It's such a popular title! 3y

I know a few people feel so-so about this one but the anime makes me laugh and I love everyone‘s personalities. The manga and anime aren‘t so very different (except the manga is far more NSFW) so there weren‘t any big surprises, but I definitely plan to read more. 😊

phantomx Soul Eater is a funny and action-packed series. I loved the background stories for each of the characters. Death the Kid cracks me up. 4y

AshleyHoss820 @phantomx I agree!! I crack up every time Death the Kid has a melt-down! I also like the balance of serious action and zany goofiness. One of my favorite anime and probably gonna to be one of my fave manga. 😊(Right now I‘m pretty obsessed with Bleach, but I also love Fruits Basket.) (edited) 4y

So I checked this book out of the library coz I know my kids love anime. I get it home and they tell me it is a "magna" book and you read it from back to front and bottom to top. The reason is because it is in the Asian format and all they did was put English text into it and then publish it out here. Well that was a new one on me!

DGRachel I think of manga as brain training to keep dementia at bay. I can usually remember to read the pages in the correct order, but I tend to get lost in the panels and have to start over. 6y

Schnoebs It becomes more natural to read the more you pick them up. I had a hard time reading in the opposite direction of what I‘m used to but now I fly through them 6y
