pickA book that is ideal to be dipped into. I preferred the second section of the book to the first as some of the letters in the first tried a bit too hard to be funny.
Overall a decent read with occasional chuckles and a definite increase in my TBR.

panThere is no doubt that in this book is a lot of research work, and without doubt that Schiff despise Cicero and she obviously have the urge to defend Cleopatra from the evil, bad, wicked ... historians (from the Roman‘s era) and misininterpretaions of the history. And this is where my dissatisfaction lies - double standards. In her arguments, Schiff does exactly the same what she is accusing the others Cleopatra‘ biographers.

pickI learned a lot about the rare book world, reading this book.But John Gilkey, a book thief, made me so angry I had to put the book down & walk away a few times. I unfortunately have personal experience with manipulators & know how they justify every bad thing they do. Written very well, the author tried to be impartial, it‘s a good read.
